Apart from the crappy vocal mix edit/mistake/whatever at 1:19, this song rocks.
Really grew on me--great riff and melody.
One of the shining unknown stars!
Would love to see and hear it live.

I'd love to see the band/Axl license this song out to the NFL or something. It would be great as a marketing clip featuring season highlights from the two teams that make it to the Super Bowl (perhaps aired during the pre-game show) for example. Same would apply with the NHL playoffs as well.

Yeah, apparently it was played during Sunday Night Football a couple weeks back.  I didn't get to see it though.  It would be a great song for the playoffs though, that's for sure.  They played "Better" multiple times last night during Monday Night Football, so it's possible.

Oh yeah, they should definitely market this as a type of sports anthem.  The lyrics are perfect for that

I love the guitars during the chorus of this song, as well as the rhythm section during the solo

My only complaint with Scraped is the background Axl vocals especially during the end. They cludder the primary lyrics. The believe in yourself line is great though

Other than that its a great rocker. Love the lyrics and solo as well. And Tommys thumpin base at the end kicks ass

hmm, I like the background vocals, it's like an extra kick in the behind  Smiley

According to my itunes playlist, this my 2nd most played song on CD after Sorry.

How does the title "Scraped" relate to the lyrics? What am I missing?

I know this was originally titled, or registered with the copyright office, as "The Lies They Tell". Is the title on the record then a mistake? Or, what accounts for the change?

It's an awesome fucking rocker, and that's why I NEED TO KNOW WHO PLAYS THE 1.58 SOLO!!! BUCKET OR BUMBLE??? drool

To my ears Bumble plays the main solo.  Bucket has the outro before and after the keys section.

"Scraped" sounds very much like a title that Bucket would come up with, I'll bet my left nut he named the song (along with Shackler's Revenge).

This songs seems a bit overlooked for some reason.....

Great lyrics as usual by Axl.

For example, the lines:

Some may convince you
No one can break through
You know you?re stronger
Than the lies
That they tell you

remind me of U2's "Acrobat". Because in it one part goes And you can dream, so dream out loud, And don't let the bastards grind you down..

Both songs seem to deal with similar subjects. It could be aimed at the press, people who try to stop you from doing what you want/believe in etc.

Took me nine months to make this kind of "connection".  Grin

What a useless bump.  Roll Eyes

Just kidding, everyone needs to be reminded of how awesome this song is.

If there is ever a time you need inspiration, or the strength to get through something, this song will lift your spirits and help you attain whatever goal you have set forth for yourself.

Nothing's impossible
I AM INCONQUERABLE!

This song is so cool, it features made up words.

Sounds like a call to arms for a disillusioned and downtrodden generation.  Was my favorite track on the album when I first heard it, and probably still is along with Rhiad.

It's a jabbing manic/schizophrenic rocker that's immediately catchy without getting annoying. LOVE IT.  beer
