It's a Gibson Les Paul Bass. It was issued in the early 90's.   There are older 70's Les Paul basses but this isn't from that lot. Gibson still makes Les Paul basses but the ones available today are nowhere near the quality of those early 90's (or 70's ) basses.

A 70's

John Taylor from Duran Duran with a 90's LP bass:

Notice the Gibson 3 point bridge? The one's Duff used had a screwed on Leo Quann type of bridge.

It's worth it for the case alone.

Seems to be a good buy, but I just feel better if I can try out an instrument in person.

yeah thats the one issue.

I live in the West Midlands, usually when i bid ive been able to go to the place to try it out first.

But this is in Yorkshire, thats damn far away.

Anyone know what the usual rate is for that bass (the early 90s model)

Cant go for that one, its in the states. Which would just be too much hassle to deal with if there were any problems with the bass, sending it back n fourth, n the cost for shipping. Add on British tax charges for large items. Yuor talkin alot of extra money on top of the price you paid!

I just wanted you to notice the differences between the two. The one I posted is basically the same one Duff used in that video.

no, some of the photos showed some potentially dodgy paint job.

so i sent multiple questions over it to the guy selling it, requesting some photos also. he never got back to me so i didnt want to risk it. it didnt sell anyway, didnt meet the reserve price.
