For those that may be interested, we just added a Guns N' Roses vs. Pearl Jam debate at WickedInfo.com. It turned out to be a quite lively and interesting debate. You can read it at http://www.wickedinfo.com/content/view/324/1/.

damn that gave me a head ache reading.

The Pearl Jam fan is using blatent typical anti GNR statements and points. and the "fellow Spandex wearing Brethren" line, was just pathetic.

GnR do not sound like those bands. Motley Crue, do not sound like thsoe bands. Def Leppard, do not sound like those bands.

And the Scorpions suck.

I think its funny he says Vedder stands out, yet his voice is the typical deep grunge voice found in most grunge, or post grunge bands (Creed anyone?)

I also agree the statement about Pearl Jam sounding dated.

How many people can name anything by the band that isnt off 10 anyway? (minus Pearl Jam fans)

Apples and oranges man.

(To the person who started the debate.)

Guns N' Roses and Pearl Jam are both awesome bands.  Can't really draw parallel comparisons.

This should be in Bad Obsession.

I like both bands. But I like GNR better ( obviously)

Pearl Jam are still making good music on their own terms, but I could do without the political BS Eddie spews.

Axl is smart enough to know people should not take their political advice from a lead singer.

Except that most of those singers copied the likes of him and Chris Cornell in an attempt to ride the coattails of the alternative rock movement, and frankly it's fucking pathetic that 17 years later people are STILL trying to sound like Eddie Vedder.

I also agree the statement about Pearl Jam sounding dated.
Binaural is a spectacular album, released in 2000. Some of it is pretty out there and it really doesn't sound dated, IMO. (Plus you can usually pick it up for around $5 bucks in a lot places if you want to try it out)

How many people can name anything by the band that isnt off 10 anyway? (minus Pearl Jam fans)
Vs.(1993), Vitalogy(1994), and even Yield(1998) were massively popular. The average listener can probably name Better Man (Vitalogy) Daughter (Vs.), Given To Fly (Yield)  and Rearviewmirror (Vs.). They're all big hits that I still hear on the radio quite often.

Wonder if there would be a chance in hell the 2 would go on tour together? That would be one hell of a night if there were tickets to that!

GNR would knock out Pearl Jam faster than Tyson did folks back in the 80's.

First round KO and it ain't even a contest.

LMAO.  rofl

Pearl jam and Guns N' Roses are two completely different bands, I refuse to compare them. They are actually two of my top five favorite bands. But, one point to bring up, is that Pearl Jam has been more consistent about releasing music to the public in the last ten years.

what's there to debate?
PJ had a couple of very good albums, but they were nowhere near the GNR albums.

The debate article made its way over to Pearl Jam's message board and it's interesting to see their fan's opinion on the matter. Besides their dissing of Chinese Democracy (and "new" GN'R), they argue just the opposite; that being that GNR have worse albums. Of course, fans on both sides are going to see it through their own viewpoint, but it's interesting to see the topic discussed on both boards.

^ Im sure they are arguing the same. but fact is, and all people except for the most hardcore PJ fans will see that the quality of their albums dropped radically after the first 2 albums.
that is just not the case with GNR. PJ have probably dropped 5 albums in the time GNR have dropped 1, and Im sure most people, fans or not, will find CD more memorable than all those PJ albums put together.
