g2r, do you know whether the album will be played straight through or broken up into segments throughout the evening?

segmants i've been told dude. in between each band

That kinda sucks.

I'm glad fans have the chance to hear it legally before the release and share the experience with other fans.

I'm just a bit curious about why the album doesn't deserve its own party in a place like London... You know, where it's the main act so to speak.

But still, I guess this is better than nothing.

/jarmo

Tell me about it dude. I will be doing my bit prior to the release though. I have various radio interviews tomorrow with the BBC and a few other London & Manchester ones. I'll be bigging the album up and will be mentioning HTGTH on the work you've all done to keep everyone updated on goings on and how we've all stayed loyal to the album thoughout years.

Also to the people who mailed me as to why G2R didn't get the Zavvi's launch gig it was merely down to the fact we resembled classic GNR too much.

I have been asked by the band performing however to performed on one of their 3 slots that day.
I cannot confirm just yet though as i will have 4 shows of my own prior to this and it does take its toll.
As far as i'm aware the Madame Jo Jo's show is now the only official Chinese Democracy related event. I've been told the Zavvi's thing is just a hired in band as a gimmic by the store throughout Monday daytime.

Enough already...

You don't like tribute bands, fair enough. We get it.

I was wondering that too but having just checked my order status at HMV and found that it says that it's shipped, it looks like I may be able to hear it before the end of the week anyway.

Aside from being the singer in Guns 2 Roses?
I am the former frontman for the 2006 lineup of Adler's Appetite and I was Vip on the GNR 2006 UK tour.

I also work in promotion and entertainment as an actor and its no secret in London that i've had interactions with GNR members for many years which if you went on our site you would know by now. Guns 2 Roses are known for being the only approved GNR tribute in the world. For some of the media the band is seen as a promotional tool for GNR. Something that keep the music & memory alive. They want to interview us to find out our thoughts on the new release.

I don't know why your so bothered dude all i'm doing is helping to promote the album. Anyone would think your jealous  rofl

Kinda what I was thinking too. I'll probably end up going, but (and no disrespect to the G2R guys) I'd much rather it was only a Chinese Democracy party. I can't understand why London doesn't deserve a proper listening party

That's no good.

I was thinking of coming along but i'm not really interested in the bands (apart from guns2roses who i like) and if they aint plaing CD in one go it kinda feels like i'm been tricked into staiyng and watching a bunch of bands i dont care about.

Shame there is no proper listening party, the UK is a big seller for GN'R, lots of fans here... i would have thought something great would've been planned.

Good work on promoting the album Gav!

Quick questions - are G2R formerly Bad Obsession? Also what time is the last band expected to finish?

I'm tempted

Cheers!

Yes.

No we are not. We were originally Perfect Crime and became Guns 2 Roses in 2004.

Last band / Guns 2 Roses should finshed just prior to midnight.

I'll be going, probably the best people to see playing the gnr classics, and should be an excellent atmosphere.  Even if the album is being played in parts, better way to pass the time between bands than some boring old pop rubbish.  Can't wait!
