new single monday?? - Confirmed, "Better" debuts today 11/17

Strange that prior to 22nd there was official news, web ads, and all kind of hoopla...and now suddenly K-rock is the only station in the country to have a 'new single' for the band that is at least top 10 in every major market rock format?  Which DJ?  When was this claim made (is it available on streamcast)?  Anyone e-mail the DJ/station yet?  Why the K-rock exclusive?  A weekend fill in gets to make a major announcement for the weekday shows - with nothing on website?

Strange that these rumors always fly on the weekend, when there is nobody around to confirm/deny them.  I hope its true, but I have to believe it is bullshit.

I suspect that by 11/20, most rock stations will have the entire album, and therefore will choose to play what they please.

WAAF in Boston has been very good about playing up to six songs from a new record-that's exactly what they did with the new Metallica and AC/DC records upon receiving the respective albums.

Smart move Azoff this song will make everyone a fan ! Better will be the best track on Chinese Democracy. 

I really doubt Azoff has any word on the single selection. Normally, this would be the label's decission.

i think you are right. In most cases, its the label calling the shots along with the band (whent its a big band)

That's a good point.  Is K-Rock involved in the listening party in any way?  Maybe they'll use that as promotion for the event.  Play a NEW song on Monday to entice people to go to the listening party later that night.  That sounds logical to me.

I will call 94whjy Providence in the morning at work if i can. I did it the day CD came out and they didn't even know it. 10mins later it was on. So it there is a single or they get the album i'll find out monday on the Paul & Al show. Go to whjy.com monday morning to find out whats going on.

i don't know the name of the dj. it was some dude with a british/australian (not sure which) accent. but they do seem to be saying "krock presents, chinese democracy listening party) and they've been giving away free tickets every couple of hours or so.

Indeed.  And it's about damn time, too.   "Better" is surely the song from CD that will turn more people on to the album, and GN'R in general, than any other.  Here's hoping...

No word on this? Lots of rumours circulating saying that radio stations are confirming that Better will hit the airways tomorrow.

I think that would shift quite a few extra copies of the album next week, 9 out of 10 cats love that song on first listen. Its much more radio freindly than CD, as successfull as that has been, Better will take the album launch up another notch in its final week of promotion.

The radio jocks will actually looking for an excuse to play it, rather than being prompted by phone ins -  as it is just so enjoyable and darn tooting good.

Thats awesome.  I was in the car all day today listening to 92.3 krock, and they've been promoting the hell out of the listening party today with contests and the "Bararck" blocks, playing lots of GN'R.

If is better coming tomorrow, I hope next single will be This I Love  along with CD release. (I know, only week for single like better is not enough, but Chinese Democracy need to sale well...and that is what TIL is gonna do. Maybe there is still no promotion, becouse CD will sell good first week well anyway. But then, there will be need to something like This I Love- song which could be good also on non-rock radio stations.)
