Maybe they'll sell alot of copies on this tour, I assume they are selling it at the shows. They'll play to several hundred thousand fans next month.
They didn't at the canadian shows. Thats odd seems like the perfect time and place for them to sell some C D copys. Joe |

The U.S never really gave the record a chance, plain and simple. There were certain people who hated it before they even heard it, and there is no changing their minds. Then when the record didn't sell up to a lot of the medias expectations they wrote it off completely. The media never misses a chance to slip the words "commercial failure" into every piece they write about "Chinese Democracy." Blabbermouth is notorious for this. If it's not album sales they are bitching about the fact that its not the original line up. It is a no win situation here in the states. Nevermind the fact that "Chinese Democracy" contains some of the best stuff that Guns N Roses have ever done, who would want to talk about that? The actual music!! |

ManetsBR post an Interview from Bumblefoot at mygnr and Bumble mentioned that CD sold 3-4 million copies.
Here is the parts:
Somehow, it looks that the band is a bit distant from the fans. Do you that this is related to the Chinese Democracy failure to be a hit?
Well, it would have been impossible to sell the amount anyone was expecting, because after so many years, after so many talks, hypes and all the "boom", how could we manage to do that? Plus the fact that CDs don't sell today as they use to do in the past. Considering this and the fact that we didn't launch any clip, didn't go on any TV program, did only a few interviews and went on tour only a year after it was launched, the 3 or 4 million it sold is pretty good. Of course, if you compare to what was expected, it's a huge failure. And people also wanted it to sound like the other GNR CDs. When this people tasted Chinese Democracy it had a very different taste, and they needed time to manage to eat it. People like it more now, than when it was launched, everyone loose the hype. I would love to know how will be the critics about this album 20 years in the future, with people talking about it's musics, and not about its costs or its delays.

I don't believe anything at this point. We've got someone saying they called the record company to get worldwide sales figures. Who there gave you that info? The secretary answering the phones?  Seems we just got numbers getting thrown about. What difference does it make anyway? Just listen to the album and enjoy |
