Yea, as much as I love Axl/GN'R -- he/they missed their opportunities to get out there and put this album over when the buzz was hot.  Touring and eventual video releases will bump it back into the top 100 and move a few more copies, but Chinese Democracy is done/forgotten as far as top 10 sales and casual rock fans.  But, if this is what Axl and Co wanted out of it I suppose it can be considered a success.  It's the only explanation I can fathom after watching them let an album with the kind of potential CD had float out there alone and sink.

Last I knew it had sold around 3 million worldwide, not sure if that's been updated though.

Kanye is still #10, the Killers are #80.  CD is out of the top 100.

Not the same list.
Maybe globally, nobody cares about Kayne West or the Killers. I know I've never heard a song from any of them.

AFD didn't do that well in the beginning, but they were a small band doing club tours then.

The release of the use your illusion albums was huge, it was an event. how you could say they didn't do so well in the beginning is beyond me.

Yea the UYI's dropped like a hurricane. I believe it broke the pre-order sales record. I am almost positive it did.

I don't remember "pre-orders" in those days (I was 12). What exactly are you referring to?
