Read the fine print...
Axl never said that.
I'm not here to debate this, only to save you from heartbreak when the Monumental Promotion never happens.
Fuck this guy. Your are the worst kind of parasite fan of anything you like. Follow something this closely and be so god damn pessimistic. I am drinking so excuse my spelling. Could you imagine if this guy followed and voted for Obama. He probably criticized everything he did and declared failure for the guy hes voting for. This has got to be some sort of mental disorder.
Jeez, calm down already bro.

LOL. Even if Axl did say that, Axl has said things in the past that have not turned out true, or took way... longer than what he originally said. So, it's just one of those things that we'll have to wait and see...
I am confident Better will become a bigger single for g'nr though.

Does Dungbeetle dislike me simply because of the color of my skin? I've made but 3 or 4 posts here and he already has his mind made up about me.
Back to SUBJECT...
Everybody I know who has heard the song BETTER went around singing it for days and days after. Whistling it. They can't get it out of their heads. If radio would just play it a few times... as much as they did the first single... people would start getting into it.

I transcribed it and Axl only said that the video would be out soon, possibly next week. I originally posted that Axl said "monumental campaign" but that came from a fan and not him. I then changed it. He did however say that he would be discussing certain things out in the open during the next month or so. Probably means he will be on a couple shows or in a couple mags. which will obviously help things.

Holding strong in Europe, #2 in the second week.
http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/charts/chart_display.jsp?g=Albums&f=European+Top+100+Albums
#5 in the world (250.000 sales this week). So far 680.000 + 70.000 +250.000 = 1 million.

Not so bad really.

Guns N' Roses Claim European Number One Album Chinese Democracy
http://www.postchronicle.com/news/original/article_212190963.shtml
Guns N' Roses' comeback has been given a boost - the band's new album Chinese Democracy has topped the European charts.
Paul Sexton of Billboard.biz reports that Guns N' Roses' new album, "Chinese Democracy" has topped the new European Top 100. Despite missing out on the number one spot in several territories, consistent number two and three debuts were enough to give Axl Rose's rockers a continental chart topper.

Guns n Roses is a WORLD WIDE band. Maybe sales in the USA will never be as awesome as we wish. But worldwide , Axl owns it.

Yes, X-Mas Sales could give it a boost. But, January sales are usually down dramatically from x-mas sales. Just looking ahead, woulden't expect much from sales in January.
But a video for better will certainly help.

GNR currently at #22 with 36% of the total in...20,000 copies.
Essentially all of those 20,000 sold so far were from best buy. Like many, I now believe if CD was sold everywhere the sales would be much higher. I realized that when I picked up a couple of new albums last week. I thought to myself, there is no way I would go out of my way to Best Buy just to buy these records, only when or if I happened to go there for some other reason I might pick them up. So I think CD does have a decent chance to be a slow burner and end up doing just fine, especially if the exclusive is indeed for a limited time.

US sales are definitely bigger than what the numbers say.
A majority of the record stores I went to in NYC to had the album....
Everything from small independent ones to Virgin Megastores.
Those sales don't count.

I believe some and/or all are purchased from international distributors, so then they would not count toward soundscan as Jarmo states.

Some are imports (the ones at Virgin seems to come from Australia as far as I remember) and some are promotional copies.

I wish they would count those. I wonder why they don't.
