I just got this in an e-mail today from KROQ out here in L.A.....How private is this event?  Should I even bother to go?  I did pre-order the album.....  They are giving away passes to the event...

I have no clue how big of a deal the Detroit one is going to be. I did hear an ad for it on our rock station though.

I'm off that day (I work retail) so I may just head down there a couple hours early to be certain.

Anyone going to the listening party at Webster Hall in NYC? I'll be curious to see what the range of age is.... will it be people in their 30's & 40's or all mixed. Last time I went to a GNR concert in 2006 it really was all ages 18 - 50 (nice to see that). Any way I'm going tonight and I'm pumped.

I probably can't get there any earlier than 6:15 pm (I work in Long Island). I think it's cool that it's open to all ages...I may bring my son (13 yrs old) and he lives and breaths GNR. His myspace header says the following "11/23/08 the day that GNR changes the world". You gotta love that.

I was planning on going to the Webster Hall one but I've been a little under the weather and it seems like there's probably going to be a line so that I'd have to get there really early and stand outside for several hours.  I really wanted one of those t-shirts too.  Even pre-ordered just so I could get "front of the line access".  Anyway to all who go have fun.

Back from NYC listening, WOW, hearing the album as meant, incredible, Ron was so cool, talking to everyone, signing stuff. TAlking MEtal guys as always awesome. Not sure how it will go other places, but if you pre-ordered multiple copies of the album, you could bring other people and they can get tees also. THats  what they did here.IF you can go to one, GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!m rockng the tee now.Also guys from Dr.Pepper came through the line and gave a coupon for free 6 pack of DR.Pepper!

The NYC Listening Party was beyond incredible.

Saw the Talking Metal Guys, Bumblefoot.

Was a great time.

Oh yeah they played a record while we were there.

It was, um, AMAZING!

Literally, I can not describe how much better the final, mastered versions of songs are. Completely blew me away. I'm still sort of in shock that I just heard Chinese Democracy!

The crowd was great, it was packed, Ron was wonderful, he must have signed autographs for a full hour if not more.

I strongly recommend that if you have one of these events near you, go!

Everyone for the most part was listening pretty intently, and rocking out. It was a lot like being at a concert, but without the actual band. I didn't really see much mingling at all. The crowd was great on the line, everyone was in good spirits and it was a great group of people who turned out.
