Im not sure if there have been others, but there was a Chinese Democracy ad aired here in the UK last night during the new episode of Two and a Half Men on Paramount. It was the first time I have seen one on UK TV (although I dont watch it much). The beginning of Shacklers Revenge was playing in the background.

Maybe this is not "monumental" in the usual sense of the word, but it was certainly a monumental moment for me to see an advert for the album I have been looking forward to so much!  beer

Yeah  -I've seen it on the Dave channel too - not on ITV though - big spot would be around a CHampions League game, maybe next Tuesday on ITV or Wednesday on Sky Sports...

I really hope this monumental campaign kicks off soon. I have only seen 1 Best Buy commercial on TV so far. Best Buy needs to start shoving it down our throat like Wal Mart did for ACDC

jesus christ man... did you fail to notice that bbf was on danny bondeduce today, talking about the album?  so we've got commecials and print ads and band members doing interviews on the biggest shows, and your still not happy?

what's a monumental campaign to you?  axl paints the moon with a picture of his face?  some people will never be happy.

also, we still have a little over a week until the album comes out.  that's a time for way more interviews and way more commercials.  try and relax man!!!

a monumental campaign is what Wal Mart did for ACDC. I dont want or expect Best Buy to have GNR stores but they should boost the TV promos. They should advertise it more on radio.

Bfoot or any other band member on an obscure Danny Bonaduce show is not a big deal

I don't know that they need to push the cd campaign much more, they are already approaching the tops of some charts.  There's a point where more ad money doesn't mean more sales.  We may see them level off here in a bit and save it for the tour.

"TV campaign" launches on TV2 (largest Danish channel) in week 47.

According to a flyer from Universal I saw today at the record shop.

That's next week, yes.

a "monumental" campaign would have to start with a re-vamp of the official website.  I think we all can agree that this website has been poorly managed with little updating and very far and few between changes.  a countdown ticker is cool but they really could do more.

anyways, enjoy the next 10 days as the anticipation grows!

Yeah, I'm also disappointed with this whole "monumental campaign." I know they aired a commercial during SNL and one during MNF, and those are two very popular programs . . . The increasing airplay of "Chinese Democracy" is a form of promotion in itself . . . But if you don't listen to rock radio, and you didn't catch the few commercials, mostly likely you still don't know the album is coming out. Best Buy didn't even advertise the album in their flyer this past Sunday (although they did the week prior).

I expect the advertising to increase a lot more the week of the release, especially with holiday shopping coming up . . . Hopefully soon we'll see a music video for "Chinese Democracy" or whatever the second single is going to be . . . I was really hoping we'd see some kind of cool cross-promotional thing with Dr. Pepper, like maybe they'd put Axl and the GNR logo on their cans or something, but that's just wishful thinking . . .

When the new AC/DC album was coming out, though, it seems like I saw an ad for it everytime I turned on the television. I want it to be the same way with Chinese Democracy. Shove it down the public's throat!!!

Jarmo, what do you think of the marketing of Chinese Democracy ? I think so far it's been pretty good, with the exception of a music video.  I just feel like a music video would really burst the gates open sort to speak.  Maybe im being impatient or just not experienced in this part of promoting a product.  I will leave it up to the professionals.

Jarmo, what do you think of the marketing of Chinese Democracy ?

Well, people seem to know about it coming out judging by the single sales and album pre-orders.

I'm sure the record company and Best Buy in the US aren't just gonna take the next week off to relax.

People seem to forget that it could be said that this all started with Shackler's Revenge months ago......

Anyone know who the musical guest is on Saturday Night Live for November 22?

Because I don't.

Just saying....what a way to kick-start Chinese Democracy Day on the 23rd, by playing SNL the night before.

I know, wishful thinking.

That's true I guess im so used to a music video being there aspart of the promotion.  Shacklers Revenge is a good point, along with Body Of Lies (If The World) Maybe their waiting for the second single for a video ? just weird that I went into my local Best Buy and I didn't see anything advertising it, along with Best Buy website having it on their front page for a couple of days.
