Thanks for sharing what the "48 year old dude from work" thinks about the song. I'll sleep better knowing that
Oh, and what is "14 years good" anyway? What song fits that bill?
It's not like they took 14 years writing that song, anyway.

It has nothing to do with how long it took. We don't know how much actual time was spent on this, and in addition we do know there was upwards of 30 songs recorded. The track fucking rocks, sorry.

Don't want to start a new topic, but as far as past singles, strangely Garden of Eden is one of the most watched on You Tube today

I loved the Garden of Eden video. Simple but fun.
Hopefully the one for CD will be equally as good.

Yesterday, they played Love Is a Bitchslap on XM.
It said: Sebastian Bach feat. Axl Rose
TODAY, in the morning they played Chinese Democracy! First time I had heard it on XM.
The Boneyard is the channel they played it on.

Unfortunately in Greece, Universal is not exactly helpful with the radio stations.
I talked to the general manager of the top rock radio station in the 2nd biggest city in Greece and he said that Universal wouldn't send them the single.
So now, he refuses to play it. And the guy wants to come to our party... It's not like he doesnt like GNR.
I told him that the fact that Universal is a bunch of assholes has nothing to do with GN'R and that they shouldn't have to pay for Universal's sins.
I asked the guy I'm talking to from Universal, and he said they have orders not to do anything until the record is released. I have no idea what the fuck is going on...

Little update about ChD in Polish radio stations
So first of all Eska Rock has the radio patronage over release of Chinese Democracy CD and they play it quite often
They put the short sample of the single on their front page:
http://www.eskarock.pl/index.php?page=eska_rock
Secondly ChD is present at 3 radio countdowns:
1st called "Lista Przeboj?w Programu Trzeciego" (Countdown of the Programme Third) is the oldes coundown in the country. It was established during marital law times in April 1982. (When I was little me and my sis used to record on tapes our own "Countdown of the Third Floor"
as we used to live in block of flats on the 3rd floor
). Today they're running
1397th
edition: G N'R @ 27th place, second week on the list, debuted on the 1.11.2008 @ 29th position
http://www.polskieradio.pl/trojka/lp3/ostatnie.aspx
2nd called "Lista Przeboj?w Marka Niedźwieckiego" (Marek Niedźwiecki's Countdown) was established this year, after Niedźwiecki separated his ways with Polish Radio - Programme Third and started to work for radio Złote Przeboje. He was the DJ who set the Countdown of the Programme Third in 1982 and is a legend of Polish radio
So at his countdown ChD debuted one week ago on the 31.10.2008 @ 22nd place, this week it was already 11th
http://www.zloteprzeboje.pl/#/sp_audycje.xml
3rd called "Turbo Top 20" is run by Antyradio DJ Przemysław "Jah Jah" Frankowski. ChD debuted today @ 17
http://forum.antyfani.pl/Turbo-Top-20-Notowanie-94-t3333.html
That radio also anounced that ChD is their power play for this week:

Not to steal Mega_Music's thunder, but I just checked Media Base 24/7 and "Chinese Democracy" has moved up to #3 on Mainstream Rock! It also had the largest week to week increase in spins of any song in the top 20 of Mainstream Rock. "Chinese Democracy" is still at #8 on Active Rock, but on that chart it also has by far the largest week to week increase in spins of any song in the top 20 of the chart. "Chinese Democracy" has also climbed 10 spots from #35 to #25 on the Alternative chart.

The Boneyard is the channel they played it on.
It's been playing on Octane, on Sirius, since sometime last week. This morning, I heard the song MENTIONED on Sirius Rewind, Buzz Saw, Classic Rock, and somewhere else...essentially, every time they intro'd a GnR song (can you tell what's in MY favorites?) they'd rave about the single and tell everyone to listen to it over on Octane.

Here are the latest Rock Radio Charts from Media Base 24/7
www.allaccess.com
Rolling Charts for week of Nov 6 - Nov 12 Last updated on: Nov 13, 2008 @ 1:02 PM (PT)
Active Rock
8 GUNS N' ROSES Chinese Democracy
Mainstream Rock
4 GUNS N' ROSES Chinese Democracy
This is proof to those who think Chinese is stalling and not getting very much radio play. On both charts Chinese Democracy has increasing plays. Also good news is that on both charts songs ranked above Chinese are getting few radio plays, or staying the same.
Here is what the charts look like with the songs above Chinese.
Active Rock
1 APOCALYPTICA I Don't Care
Moved up from #2 to #1
2 METALLICA The Day That Never C...
Fell From #1
3 AC/DC Rock 'n Roll Train
Has only increased by 28 plays
4 THEORY OF A DEAD. Bad Girlfriend
Is losing plays fell -128 on the week
5 MUDVAYNE Do What You Do
Is up 115 plays
6 DISTURBED Indestructible
Is up 46 plays
7 SHINEDOWN Second Chance
Is up 132
8 GUNS N' ROSES Chinese Democracy
Has increased by 138 radio plays
Mainstream Rock
1 AC/DC Rock 'n Roll Train
Is up 6 plays
2 METALLICA The Day That Never C.
Is up 9 plays
3 THEORY OF A DEAD. Bad Girlfriend
Is down -19
4 GUNS N' ROSES Chinese Democracy
Is up 31 plays
Also in Mainstream Chinese had the most play increases.
That is just proof Chinese is still getting heavy radio play. It still has the potential to go #1, normally on the Rock Charts it takes a few weeks for a song to reach its full potential.
On other radio charts: (These could be outdated or already posted)
Radio and Records based of Nielsen ratings.
www.radioandrecords.com
ACTIVE ROCK NATIONAL AIRPLAY Issue Date:11/14/2008
8 GUNS N' ROSES Chinese Democracy
ROCK NATIONAL AIRPLAY Issue Date:11/14/2008
5 GUNS N' ROSES Chinese Democracy
Also received Most Increased Plays
On Billboards
Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks
Issue Date: 2008-11-22
5 GUNS N' ROSES Chinese Democracy
I call that a pretty successful first single!!! For those wanting another single to hit radio your probably going to have to wait for Chinese to die down. Its doing very very well.
