I was thinking more like 12-13 songs per set.

It's definitely doable, as we saw during the North American tour, Axl's voice just got stronger and stronger and setlists got longer.

I agree if they did two sets with an intermission maybe they could eliminate some of the guitar solos.  That would be a better pace for the show.

I've been to shows with breaks like that, and frankly I think they completely ruin the flow.

It's awesome to have 2.5 solid hours of rock, not 1 and a half hours, 15 minutes off, then another hour.

15 minutes off, then another hour.

That's a pretty long break!

The one's I have been to have been 5 minutes at most.  Just a little longer than your usual encore break.

Didn't Motley Crue do this on the Carnival of Sins tour?     I seem to recall they didn't have any openers and played an hour took a 15 min break and came back and played another hour.

I thought it worked out pretty good.

I prefer the almost 3 and a half hour set I saw at Madison Square Garden in the early 1990's.
I think it was 5 encores. There are your breaks.

Word, that shit only works for Roger Waters...

CD should be opener, and WTTJ first encore, that's it Smiley

I thinks it's fuckin' cool with long guitar solos and drum solos and shit like that. It would also be cool if they did maybe a Tommy or Dizzy song without axl. There's alot of great material for the different members solo work.

How cool would it be if the whole band without axl did Tommys Motivation i.e.! drool

i can see both sides to the argument.....but my personal view is to keep 1 set and either use jungle or CD to open the show.
I think jungle is a fucking awesome opener, but i guess things move on and CD would make a kick ass replacement

I was just guessing to be honest, I just don't see the point.

Waters did it on his last tour, and it worked great!

One half a best of, the other Dark Side of the Moon... What more could you want !! It worked great.

But a 15 minute brak with nothing?.. I didn't think it worked very well...

Every time !!

It worked well because Dark Side of the Moon is a thing of itself... It needs to be appreciated with its own beginning and end, it can't just be slotted in after Sheep!, that's insane. It is its own Animal...............

What do you guys think of this idea?

I think that on the next tour they should change it up and do 2 sets with a break in between.

they could start one set with WTTJ and the other with Chinese Democracy!

Great idea for some bands. I've seen Rush, Metallica, Motley Crue, The Black Crowes and Pink Floyd all do this.

I'm not sure it would work for GNR, but who knows.

Hear hear brother, i see your point!

But, there is a but.

When i saw that show at Roskilde festival it didn't really work for me. A break could work, but i think there should have been something going on in that break, just something that kind of prevents the crowd from falling asleep. 15 minutes is way too long imo, i think maybe waters even took a longer break like 20 minutes or something...

And to the bar you say? Imagine 70 000 people going to the bare in that break...  hihi
