I was listening a radio station here in Venezuela last friday and I sent a text to the show requesting Chinese Democracy ( The song ), then when the guy received the text said something like, "Someone is requesting a song From Chinese Democracy we will play a song later", 15mn later the guy said, "this song is from the forthcoming GNR album Chinese Democracy and this the the best song to my opinion, Please listen it and after 3mn you will note this song rocks, it's called I.R.S.", I don?t know if he played the demo but it really rocked

The Edge is a HUGE Online Station and one of the biggest stations in Toronto which is the 4th biggest market in Canada / USA. We need to get this one higher!

 

We were up in the 80% but now we're down to 64%

That's quite an accomplishment considering all the alt rock snobbery in the comments on GN'R I noticed in the various blogs for that station.

They just played "new" Guns N' Roses on Sirius Octane, but it was Chinese Democracy.  I requested both songs this morning.  Not sure if they've played Better yet.  Kayla (the DJ on now)intro'd CD and made no mention of Better.  Maybe they're not aware?  We might have to e-mail them and make sure they know.  I'm at work right now but I'll get on that when I get home.

I have not heard "Better" yet on 96 Rock in Raleigh, NC.  However, they are still playing "Chinese Democracy" some.  They are having a "Chinese Democracy Weekend".  Win the CD before you can buy and also win a Dr. Pepper.

Yeah I haven't heard "Better" on the radio yet either, still hearing "Chinese Democracy" myself.  It seems as if only SOME stations got the single and were playing it today, not ALL.

How has the DJ/listener response to "Better" been thus far?

It seems like "Chinese Democracy" is peaking just now or has just peaked at radio.  It's still holding strong at #3 on Mainstream Rock and #8 on Active Rock on All Access, but the increase in spins is less than 10 for each format.  I think that since the single just went on sale last week on iTunes, it's possible that it will move up even higher than #5 on Billboard this week.  I think it will likely go to #3 or so, that's my guess.

But, it seems that the timing of the release of "Better" is perfect, right before the album comes out and just as "Chinese Democracy" is peaking.  It's also much poppier than "Chinese Democracy", so it could have a much longer stay on the charts than "Chinese Democracy".

Good call by the label, management and the band.
