Sounds great, now to wait to buy the single (without the radio compression)

The host of waaf definatly is a fan, not your typical negative asshole who changes his mind according to what people say.

DC101 has not even mentioned it yet. I just called and he said he'd try to get it on.

DC101 is the big rock station in DC, how can they just ignore it?

Most of the WAAF callers are just calling for laughs.

The hosts are not very knowledgeable (i.e. Buckethead still in the band, 1 "half" tour in last 13 years, etc. blah, blah).

The tide is turning with calls a bit now at least though...

The WAAF hosts are being pretty fair, it's just most of the callers.

3 callers love it now.

Someone from mygnr.com forum just called.

Bostonians/Massholes who are listening at this time of day are very critical by nature... its the toughest crowd in the U. S. ask a baseball fan... All those guys with the heavy Boston accent are harsh on anything.

I couldn't even get the WAAF page to load, so I'm listening to 93Rock. The DJ there only took two brief calls; one was positive, one was negative (the negative dude said he'd take new Metallica anyday). They brought up the VMA performance from a few years ago and the "big, botoxed face." That pissed me off.

Judging by the comments being made on these stations, it's proof that the average person has no idea what's been going on in the GNR world these last few years. They don't know about Bumblefoot; they don't know about the tour; they haven't heard the leaks; people still think Buckethead is in the band. Even once they see them perform on TV and stuff, people are probably going to think Bumblefoot is just Buckethead without the mask and KFC bucket.

People are going to bash the new song like crazy. I can't believe what you guys are saying, that the people in Boston think this is Axl's only range. Wait until they hear the rest of the album. Axl still has one of the biggest ranges in the music industry. People are going to hate no matter what, though. Fuck 'em, is all I say.

Maybe radio stations should be required to play "Get in the Ring" right after they debut the song.

I'm really surprised about the lack of promotion. The first single off the new album and I've heard about it only on the net. What the fuck is the record company doing?

Well it was just announced yesterday evening, so they didn't have much time to get the word out there.  Maybe they rushed it to prevent it from leaking?  Not sure.  I think they have a plan in place though, let's see how it all unfolds.

Heard it on Swedish national radio (of all places  Wink ) and it sounded amazing.

It definitely sticks out among all the tracks they normally play. Pop music, Idol contestants and so on.

So it's no wonder if people are surprised. They're not used to hearing anything like it on the radio!

Listened (out of the US) on q1043.com
Liked it! Not the best song ever, but it's a cool rocker!
Liked it better than the live version....
