It seems like a lot of people listened to it wanting to hate it just for obvious reasons and are really liking it, converting the doubters has begun.  Grin

well, i was very surprised and pleased by the critics on portuguese radio. it premiered today, around 9 AM, they played the track on Antena 3's morning show, and both DJ's said they liked the song, especially the solos. Another DJ (who's there just for to make some jokes) said that Dr. Pepper tasted like poop, so he advised them not to take the Dr. Pepper offer.
this was really surprising because Axl has become an easy target for all portuguese press and music fans, after Gn'R's 1992 performance in Lisboa, where Axl stood 3 songs laying down on the floor calling everybody "stupid cocksucker motherfuckers".

radio 1 made clear yesterday that the november 23rd date for the album is not even confirmed for the UK yet so we may have to wait, although i do hope not.
As for the single i though hmv and everyone got rid of cd singles so i think it will have to be digital so PUT IT ON ITUNES NOW! Smiley

You still get CD singles, no "B" side as such just extra tracks, my guess maybe CD live, maybe an oldie live and hopefully ('cos I think it would be fantastic) CD instrumental

I really love the fact that there's been mostly positive press for the song (still a lot of haters on da interwebs though, sadly) and this isn't even, IMO, one of the best tracks on the album.  Imagine how stuff like Madagascar and Street of Dreams (assuming it is the Blues, which it probably is) which is mindblowing epic material.

Shows how outta the loop I am these days! lol

Never really buy singles, but do if it's a band i really like just for completeness - I love getting b-sides and extras. Bought all the Darkness singles - some of the bsides were my fav tracks! Got a nice signed Get your hands off my woman CDS, but that's a little off topic!

Does the lack of physical CDS impact sales/album promotion in a negative way do you think? What are your thoughts? I always get the feeling somethings been lost, like music is on it's demise with less exposure, but that's prob just me not liking change. I sound like an old man now, I'm only 27! Is that old?! lol

The norweigan review basicly says the guitarr riff is very heavy and hooky. He compares Axl to Iggy Pop and he's very suprised that the song was actually pretty good.

The swedish review's headline: "Thank you and goodbye, Axl Rose." I think it's pretty self explanationary..his biggest complain is that the song is way overproduced and that there's a lack of a real chorus.

Personally, I think it's a good song but im abit dissapointed myself.

i agree that it probably is not going to be the best song on the album however i think its brilliant, maybe they released this as its the title track, and in itself will be advertising the album?

yeah.... Silverchair released their The Greatest View single last year and released 2 b-sides, a video and a live version of TGV.

So yes.... B-sides are common. I would expect it. Oh my god is one of my fav tracks.
