Use Your Illusion I (1991)

« on: October 17, 2008, 01:01:47 PM »

This is speculation, but we do have 14 tracks here... how many you think it will push out.

Most bands do 2-4 singles, the best albums even have 6 singles deep.

I say CD has at least 4 singles off it.

From what I've heard, sounds like a classic album!

4 or 5

I think this album will have some real legs.  They have a number of songs that could be big radio hits on there and they will have the record label standing behind them

Yeah this isn't a Libertad kinda album...

It seems to be solid and consistent.

I want this album to be relevant in 2010 even.

Can't wait

I meant "isn't" my bad... don't know why I said that.

2-3.

TWAT, Prostitute and one rocker.

I think that "Better" has to be the first single.

I would think at least 4: Better, TWAT, CITR and what I believe to be Prostitute

except for IRS, CD, Rhiad, I think any of the other songs can def be singles.

Not sure of the new ones because we havnt heard them yet.

they prob will get 4 singles out of this

I've always felt that "Better" and "The Blues" (or "Street of Dreams," as it's apparently been changed to, though I much prefer the original title), would be huge hits if released as singles. It's impossible to say, though. Even if we've heard various versions of the songs, we don't know what the finished product will sound like. And a few of the songs we've never heard before. Considering how many people on this board love "CITR," I think that could also be a huge hit. I don't think "TWAT" is single material. Even though it's one of my favorites now, it's one of those songs that took a few listens for me to really fall in love with it, much like "Estranged."

I have this weird feeling that we are yet to hear the best song of this album.  I'm gunna say

1. One of the Unreleased/Not Leaked/Not Played Live Songs
2. Better
3. TWAT
4. The Blues/Street of Dreams

I could say others but im being realistic. I've heard albums that should have spawned 10 singles but only spawned 2. But i don't think the amount of singles will matter. It's GN'R. Here's hoping they start touring by the end of the year  beer beer

very true...there really arent any legit singles anymore...except for the lead single i guess...K-Rock in NYC has played pretty much all of "Death Magnetic" at this point...its all about the internet...videos are made for the internet and songs that you want people to hear are usually posted on a myspace or another site like it...
