"You're an idiot"

WWW
« on: October 06, 2008, 01:46:55 PM »

With the baseball playoffs in full swing, last week we asked the readers to tell us their sports anthems. After sorting through information like the Vancouver Canucks? goal song and what Dio song the Phillies? Pat Burrell comes to the plate to, we can reveal that Guns N? Roses? ?Welcome to the Jungle? is your favorite stadium rocker, beating out a pair of tunes by AC/DC, Metallica and the White Stripes song that has become the unofficial theme song for soccer hooligans. Check out the list below:

1. Guns N? Roses ? ?Welcome to the Jungle?
2. AC/DC ? ?Thunderstruck?
3. Metallica ? ?Enter Sandman?
4. AC/DC ? ?Hell?s Bells?
5. White Stripes ? ?Seven Nation Army?
6. Ozzy Osbourne ? ?Crazy Train?
7. U2 ? ?Vertigo?
8. Ramones ? ?Blitzkrieg Bop?
9. Todd Rundgren ? ?Bang The Drum All Day?
10. House of Pain ? ?Jump Around?

I know the Washington Capitals always use it in close games in the third period, along with a special video montage. It's a big part of the game here actually.

It's (or used to be at least) the theme song for the Cincinnati Bungles stadium... Yankee stadium played it before all games as well!!

I'm shocked not to see Queen @ #1, or even on the list for that matter!!!

This was odd to me, as I always felt that Paradise City was the perfect stadium party anthem! Huh

There's nothing better than being at a game where the home team is making a push for a come-from-behind victory and at the end of a timeout in the last few minutes, Welcome to the Jungle hits the speakers.

Queen and "Rock and Roll Part 2" are mysteriously absent from this list.  Vertigo?

LOL!! i guess they're looking for a spanish version.
actually in Lisboa's team Sporting stadium they play Welcome To The Jungle just before the game, their symbol is a lion, so there's a lion/jungle reference. We are The Champions is usually played in F.C.Porto's stadium though, to my delight.

Every game I go to I hear WTTJ at least 20 times, the opening at least.  Not the full song, just enough to hear Axl scream.  Pretty much every big 3rd down on defense it's played.  Paradise City is played too, but not nearly as often.

I support a London based football team and we often play London Calling by the Clash - which is cool.  However I find the sentence Seven Nation Army is the unofficial hooligan song hilarious  rofl - never heard that song sung at or around any English football match ...
