Plus Best Buy has it on sale right now for $11.99 if you pre-order. I wouldn't be surprised if it's a dollar or two higher on the actual release.

I got the new best buy add today, it has the CD cover pic on there saying it is 11/25*

* date varies

so it is still coming out on Sunday, just 11/25 for a tuesday release, so we should be able to go get it on 11/23 still.

Also the cover art doesn't have the little logo in the bottom right corner in the ad.

I'm still confused about the release date.  It says the 25th some places and the 23rd others.  Also I'm wondering if I should pre-order and do in store pickup.  I'm concerned that I'll show up on the day of release and they'll only have enough on hand to cover pre-orders and a few others.

Well, they only let you pre-order 3 at a time, so I think you'd be safe. I'm pretty sure they'll have a few cases of the album on hand, being such a big release. They may even have an individual display for it (like they do with some movies).

Hmmm...I wonder if they will have a limit on how many you can buy in store on Nov 23rd, maybe to prevent resale of the album....I plan on buying more than a few....perhaps I will have to make two trips on Nov 23rd....

I had the same question, as I don't remember ever seeing a vinyl section at BB.  However people said that they did carry vinyl of the new Metallica record, plus store pickup is available for CD vinyl, so it is assumed the stores will carry it.

I called 1-888-BESTBUY to inquire about midnight releases. They said as of right now they have none planned for Chinese Democracy and that they usually don't do midnight releases! I called my local store and they said they were not having a midnight release!! Has anyone confirmed (either by phone or in person) that their store is having a midnight release!?

Please, stop using verbs such as "will", "must", "need to" when refering to the decisions of the GN'R camp or their marketing/sales counterparts! You set your expectations and those of other people up and in way believed only by yourself to be right, that disappointment is the most likely outcome scenario.
They'll do just fine on their own terms, even if they don't follow your concerned recommendations.

The flagship and large market store sometimes have a section for vinyl, but it's not often. If you've never seen vinyl in your local store, chances are you're not going to see CD either.

If you pre-order and ship OR do in-store pick up, they're gonna ship it to wherever you want it. I did shipping to my house only because I'm gonna go buy the CD the moment they open and I can wait to get the vinyl for a couple days since it's just going in a frame on the wall anyways.
