Do you really need to pre-order this? Just show up at the store the day of release. They'll have lots for you. Then you don't have to worry about all these little changes.

I noticed this on the BestBuy (Canada) page:
"This product is scheduled to arrive in our warehouse on the Release Date"

I've seen this before when they want to ensure there's no leaks, it ALSO means that the album may not be in the store that day due to shipping delays. I have seen this MANY times in the past simply due to road conditions, etc.

I would hold off on pre-ordering anything and just call the store the day of release. If you pre-order from BestBuy then find out HMV is having a Midnight sale you'll be kicking yourself for having to buy multiple copies.

Go back and check out the previous 10 pages or so. Many people have listed why they have been and will continue to pre-order.

Maybe some people don't wanna go to the store or don't have one close by?

Maybe some just like ordering the album they've anticipated the most as soon as possible?

Maybe some people prefer to get it delivered to their mailbox?

Etc etc.

Sure, this is all true. Just sounds like a lot of people whining about nothing though. I'm glad I live in Canada where I can get it anywhere. Hell, I'll probably be able to pick it up at the gas station around the corner.

Nobody is whining about anything.  We've waited a long time for the album, so if the pre order is available, why not guarantee yourself a copy.  Kind of like a presale, get the tickets before they are available, are you against those too ?

Screw preordering. I'll do it the old fashioned way and just show up at best buy the morning of the 23rd. i can see why those that don't have a best buy close by choose to preorder though. Too bad U.S. mail don't run on Sunday, those that preorder probably won't get it til Monay. Then we get to look forward to the posts of people bitching that their cd didn't arrive on time.

I am so stoked for Axl & GnR that Chidem is a MAJOR success on the radio, and can't wait until the 23rd! (I didn't pre-order because I want it ASAFP and don't know where I will be that day)

I really don't think it will matter if you pre-order or just go and pick it up. I pre-ordered because I want to guarantee myself a copy.  But I only PO-ed 1 copy, and I plan on picking up 2 more.  So I'll have the best of both world's

For those of you who've maybe previously used the Best Buy site for pre-ordering and such, is it unusual to have this much... uncertainty I guess is the word.  Like first it was two covers, now one.  Had a $50 vinyl bundle, now removed.  I'm just wondering if this is an indication of plans actually changing vs. poor work on Best Buy's part.  Thoughts?

Best Buy told me both times I had to talk to them about the change that it's entirely their fault. They had a mis-communication with GNR management that made them think they were 3 covers initially.

Irv and Andy need to get on the horn to the Best Buy advertising people.     This ad (in the flyer) is sooooooo small that if you weren't actually looking for it, you could easily miss it!!!    Plus they have the date as Nov 25 with the asterisk saying 'Date subject to change.'     WTF??

True.  I was ecstatic just to see it in the flyer.  And, to be fair, all other "pre-order" CDs have usually been about that size as well.  I imagine it will only get more noticeable as the date gets closer...

The vinyl has moved to 3rd on the pre-order list...it was in 4th yesterday.  The CD is still in 1st.

i ben looking at the best buy ads and i see cd comeing out 11/25 but on the gnr site and says 11/23 is this a misprint what best buy did? and sorry this ben confuseing me

Well, they only let you pre-order 3 at a time, so I think you'd be safe. I'm pretty sure they'll have a few cases of the album on hand, being such a big release. They may even have an individual display for it (like they do with some movies).

Best Buy will have what I refer to as "a shit-ton" on hand for release day.
