Jeepers crow people, no one is trying to be over the top or dramatic.

Yes, it's just a CD, understood and accepted.

I have a very busy life between work and being a single mom.  This is why knowing something in advance is helpful.  I want to enjoy the CD, talk to my friends about it, maybe even go visit people who are listening to it...you know FUN!

I have to make sure my daughter is somewhere safe, have the time taken off of work (I work somewhere between 55 and 70 hours per week, and WILL be working the day after Thanksgiving and that weekend), and make sure I have funds to purchase it on the right day. 

I will not be able to just get the CD and listen to it at the drop of a hat.  I wish I could, but my life just doesn't work like that right now

Did you see up there were I said I have several friends coming from up to 3 hours away to party? This is kind of a big deal to me and my friends so I'm planning a big party for release day.

Alot of us (me and my friends) work in retail so that week is super tight with working a ton to prepare for and then working on Black Friday and the next day.

Then ofcourse Thanksgiving is in there where everyone has to travel (sometimes far away) to spend the day with their families.

If I was to be told from an official source whether the date was Sunday or Tuesday, it'd be alot easier to plan the party.

Can't imagine what's funny about it. Guns N' Roses is my favorite band, goes the same for alot of my friends. We've all been waiting on this album for a long time.

Ofcourse we're going to celebrate.

We've been waiting for more then a decade for new music.....and wanting to celebrate is funny? I'm confused    lol I was under the assumtion that most of this board will be doing a hellava lot of partying for this release.

I guess I'll stop being a stick in the mud and just wait till whenever.

Yes, they are the 2 most likely dates.  I'd take the whole week off to party, to make sure I get the right date, but I'm not 16 anymore

how can we be expected to trust Best Buy?

Just take a look at the facts:

Andy Gould went to the Best Buy convention and played them some new songs.
Best Buy has it on their site.
It's a Best Buy exclusive in USA.
We have seen the cover art and track listing.

Add to that the two new tracks that have been used in Rock Band 2 and Body Of Lies.

If this was a fraud from Best Buy's side, I think something would've been done about it.


All of the above makes this a totally different scenario to Amazon.com adding it for pre-order in 2005 or whatever.

i hear ya. and your comments which are getting people's hopes up are very telling.

but in 2006 we had Axl's manager telling us it was coming out. for me, that's more powerful than Best Buy. i thought it was a lock. but the reality was we didn't know what was going on behind the scenes. and we realized that people close to Axl have different motives.

same thing now....we don't know what is going on behind the scenes. for all we know, the label is playing hardball with Axl.

this is HIS album. not Best Buy's, not Universal's, not Andy Gould's. they all have their motives, which may or may not align with Axl's.

i'm intrigued, but i'm not getting excited until it's official.

I completely understand what you're saying Russ. I don't think Jarmo does however. Yes, with everything (Best Buy site, the promo ads) pointing to either the 23rd or 25th, it would be nice to know which of those days will be the release date. Especially in the case where you're having people coming from the other side of the state to your "release party." And for the record, how is it "funny" to have a party for the release? I have a hard time believing we're the only ones planning for such an event.
