Maybe Best Buy jumped the gun....I'm assuming (hoping) that the UK (Europe) will have the album released at the same time as Best buy in the US (with similar choices to purchase) this would be logical to stop people from downloading from the US. Hopefully we will find out tomorrow

Some of youze swore that Nov 23rd was "official" too and not just a rumor.  And now that the BestBuy site changed to read "COMING SOON" instead of "pre-order" I think 'release date rumors' is still an appropriate thread title for the time being.

Yes, Chinese Democracy is one album.

Now, I didn't say that there won't be different configurations of that release. Including possible bonus materials on bonus discs and so on.

So Guns N' Roses could release 3 cd's, all titled Chinese Democracy. This would be one album as they are all called Chinese Democracy. (no part 1, 2 or any of that kind of thing)

The cd's titled Chinese Democracy could have different covers - but all still titled simply "Guns N' Roses Chinese Democracy" , therefore still being just one album called "Chinese Democracy".

The cd's, which are all titled "Chinese Democracy" and have differing covers - could all contain different material - but as they are all simply titled "Guns N' Roses Chinese Democracy", this release would still be considered, as is the intention of its creator, one album.

That would be pretty damn cool.  I think I would have to have that mounted and framed.

Reselling is against the law here. The only way they can pull it off is by opening them and selling them used... which would be a loss not a gain... lol.

Oh right.

But importing from abroad and reselling would be ok?

I read that the small record stores plan on doing that for the AC/DC album...

The small stores can't do this because they would be buying the cd's at retail prices from best buy or another retailer. They can not make any money selling the cd's that way, so they won't do that.

if that was the artwork for one of the covers, my hope is that the other covers are similar in set up with the black area and the text, but the inside picture is different. that way there is some nice consistency when they are hanging on my wall.

I don't want to say I'm not a fan of different album covers for the sake of album covers.  With CD, I don't care if they have 20, as long as it is released.

would be nice to have a variation or two and not just a cover being different.
