If that's really true, releasing on a Sunday is a pretty good idea. Most people don't work on Sundays and the Best Buy around here is always really busy that day.

But if it were true, I don't understand how hitsdailydouble.com would have this info before anyone else...

its an intersting idea....If it is an exclusive release Best Buy could pretty much release it any day they want....Metallica released their record on a Friday, and that thing sold and continues to sell shitloads...even though it was leaked over a week in advance....

I like the idea of a sunday release because it will be the only record coming out that day....it seperates it from the rest of the new releases....good shit...hope its true....I'm sure we will find out soon enough....

This whole 11/23 WOULD be a great idea if it proves to be true...

Also, I've been thinking about the fact that there's been no official announcement yet.  At first I was concerned, but now I wonder if the band is cashing in on the whole mysticism and rumor based history surrounding this album, and may in fact be keeping it that way, as long as they can, up until the day of the release, just to build as much hype as possible around the album.  (Hey, it's worked so far.) Then...BOOM, it's released and making headlines everywhere.

 It would  also be a great way to keep potential "hoarders" from leaking tracks upon what they believe to be a potential imminent release.  Just a thought.

Are there any best buy employees on this forum? At what point would the copies be shipped in? like i assume a week early or something at least to stack the shelf? or to send across the countries for simeltaneous release? how do these things work...

There may be something that nobody has mentioned going on, the album and possibly a single release at doing a chart double Album and single for the #1 slot at christmas perhaps?

If they (the bods doing the promotion) think that its a possibilty, then to enter the charts say at #1,2 or 3 on the 2nd. It would look to push sales for the 9th, 16th amd 23rd and get the sales through and based on this. It may even be released to enter the charts as late as for the 16th December chart, if this is what they want to achieve. I say the 16th, because they would get a second chance to make #1 with addition promotion if required.

Not to mention, it would be AWESOME....I wouldn't have to take Tuesday off from work, and the PARTY on Saturday leading to the midnight opening would be SWEET.

The video game industry has done this with the "big name" releases over the past year or two...it's worked out very well for them.  Maybe GnR and Best Buy are taking a page from that book.  I HOPE so!

My sister in law is a front line associate at Best Buy.  I'll call her later today to see if she's heard anything.  Again, last time I talked to her, she'd heard the november 25th date, strictly as a rumor.
