I already bought the vinyl.  I can pick it up at the store the day of the release.

I didn't even think about pre-ordering the cd until it dawned on me that pre-sales would help generate success for the album PRIOR to its release.

I planned on going to Best Buy as soon as it opened anyway, plus I thought pre-ordering was shipped via the mail.

So, I just pre-ordered one copy for pickup so that I'm guaranteed that a copy will be there on the 23rd.  I still plan on buying Chinese Democracy through itunes the second it becomes available (hopefully just past midnight from the 22nd).

In the end I'm buying 3 cds and one itunes digital download.  Four total.  Then I'm going to buy multiple copies as gifts before Christmas.

Best Buy finally got around to canceling Cover B on vinyl and CD for me, BUT they did give me another gift card for the trouble.

So as of now it would appear that there's just the one cover on CD and vinyl.

Fine by me... less frames to buy.

Best Buy called me at around 6:30 last night.  They were telling me that they were canceling the Vinyl cover B.  He was saying something about there were 6 covers at first, but as we get closer to the release date, it was whittled down to 2 and both were going to be on the same item.

I would have asked more question, but I was driving on Halloween night on a back road with 5 pre-teens in my truck all talking loudly and making prank plans.  I was a little busy 

I got a 15$ coupon, which I appreciate.  The ONLY complaint I have is that I am required to use that coupon on the SAME DAY.  I would have liked to have some more time, but c'est la vie.  I got my daughter a new DS game that she doesn't know is coming

Do you really need to pre-order this? Just show up at the store the day of release. They'll have lots for you. Then you don't have to worry about all these little changes.

I noticed this on the BestBuy (Canada) page:
"This product is scheduled to arrive in our warehouse on the Release Date"

I've seen this before when they want to ensure there's no leaks, it ALSO means that the album may not be in the store that day due to shipping delays. I have seen this MANY times in the past simply due to road conditions, etc.

I would hold off on pre-ordering anything and just call the store the day of release. If you pre-order from BestBuy then find out HMV is having a Midnight sale you'll be kicking yourself for having to buy multiple copies.

I think most hardcore fans are buying multiple copies.  I preordered it for pick, and will grab another copy when I'm there.

Go back and check out the previous 10 pages or so. Many people have listed why they have been and will continue to pre-order.

Maybe some people don't wanna go to the store or don't have one close by?

Maybe some just like ordering the album they've anticipated the most as soon as possible?

Maybe some people prefer to get it delivered to their mailbox?

Etc etc.
