Those are Best Buy sku's... Go into (or call any store) and ask them to look those numbers up in their RSS. They are in their system with an 11/25 street date.

^I'm just afraid that people are gonna think that it's three different albums, if there's three different album covers out there.

To my knowledge (I've been following this on a few boards), there is no clear reason being given at this point for the three different versions.  The difference between prices for the first three and second three (as it's been explained elsewhere, whether or not it's accurate) is because the $20 versions are vinyl.  As far as the difference between versions 1, 2, and 3, the consensus seems to be that there will be different covers/album art (i.e. the first VR album).  Of course, none of this is written in stone, and neither is the release date, but it makes the most sense at the moment.  If different versions were completely different albums, that would seem to contradict what Jarmo and others have said.  If the different versions contain bonus material, the identical price for each seems odd.  (Unless of course each came with a different "bonus item" such as a t-shirt, keychain, etc., but that seems kind of busch-league for Axl after waiting so long, nor does he seem like the kind of guy that would want trinkets attached to his album.  Of course, I don't know Axl all that well, so I could be misjudging him...)  Anyway, my money's on three different covers, but the same material in each (hopefully with a DVD!), plus the same three versions in vinyl.  This is, of course, all speculation.  "Take it for what it is."

Don't expect anything conventional in terms of promotion of the album etc.

Sure, they could announce it tomorrow and start an extensive promo campaign with a single, video etc.

But the word is already getting around in a big way, even though there isn't anything close to a release date set apart from a vague "November" timeframe.

All Axl himself needs to do, even a mere week out of the release date is say one "boo" and that's it, watch it explode.

It seems to me that promotion has already started, Shackler's Revenge being on Rock Band 2 and If the World being in Body of Lies is certainly promotion of some sort

I don't know what it stands for, but Chinese Democracy is in the system with multiple listings.  Basically, by virtue of Chinese Democracy being in the system, it means it is on order.  At least that's what I gathered from talking to a few different employees.  I saw the listings with my own eyes.  It's there.

Don't quote me... but I believe it is "Retail Stock System" I am guessing on the last S being system. I worked there 10 years ago before this new system was rolled out and they were still using a green screen.

It may be on order at a corporate/district level... but seeing it with my own eyes, it isn't on order at the store level (that was part of the sku listing).

I don't know how you differentiate between the two.  But, all I know is that when you type Chinese Democracy into the RSS "description" section, you get all those listings for Chinese Democracy by Guns N' Roses.

If you notice the last 2 numbers of the $13.99 version, 16, 34, 52, and compare them with the $19.99 version, they're the same numbers but reversed, 61, 43, 25, lol.

I didn't take note of the exact SKU numbers, but there were multiple listings for Chinese Democracy and one listing I saw did have a price of $13.99.

It just means that they have been given the UPC of an item that they can begin selling on 11/25 (based on the sku info) and applied a sku to it. Doesn't mean anything has been ordered. Infact the RSS says nothing is on order at the store level. 0 instock 0 on order.

BUT... the fact that it is there, and they have been given a UPC just (in my eyes) proves that the deal did in fact go thru.  Way to blow the opportunity to make a dramatic anouncement... fans found it by asking 10 dollar an hour BB employees.

All of those numbers are correct and the associated pricing is also correct (I'm a loser... I wrote them down while in the store)
