1.  Stevie nicks (Fleetwood mac)
2.  Eizabeth fraser (cocteau twins)
3.  Sia (Zero 7)
4.  Jenny Lewis (rilo kiley)
5.  Dolly Parton - seriously...it would be awesome.

I like Sarah Bettens' voice (from K's Choice, they had a few hits in the past, the biggest being "Not an Addict")... I'm just not sure that her vocal style would work w/ Axl's... perhaps on an acoustic track like Patience, but Patience

Alicia Keys or Abby Gennet.

For those who may laugh at Alicia, check out her duet with Keith Urban of 'Gimme Shelter'.

Janis Joplin

hey, no one said "What ALIVE female artist would make a good duet w/ Axl?"

 peace

So I was leaving work, listening to Better and I started thinking about how that rolling stone critic did his quasi-review of the leaked tracks and how he thought that there was a girl singing  in the beginning of Better.  Then it occurred to me that, as far as I know, Axl never did a duet / dueling vocals song w/ a female singer... and I thought it could possibly be pretty cool if it were the right person...So... what living (so no Janis Joplin) female singer do u think could pull of song w/ Axl ?  Some-one who has a similar vocal style or one that compliment Axl's.

(Apologies for leading this thread a little off topic but didn't want to clutter the board with a new one.)

Just read about Tom Jones' new album (due on 25 Nov) - it's quoted on Reuters as being:
"...this is a characteristically splashy, bombastic, large-sounding platter of future-retro swagger in the vein of the Amy Winehouse-led throwback-soul movement."

And just thought that should Axl and Tom, by some million-to-one chance, be on the same talk show or whatever at some point in the near future, it'd be fascinating to see them do a one-off performance together.  Yes/no - any thoughts?  Certainly different, I'd say.

It would literaly be unique to see those two doing a duet,  Tom Jones wouldn't have even began to be a thought in my head placed beside Axl Huh  I did listen to him growing up as he was definately my parents era, and I find him to have a most lovey voice, but in all reality I cant' picture it or hear it Undecided  There is another thread on page 4, What if Axl collaborated with... I saw JEnny Lewis live, and she was great.

Her cd "Acid Tongue" is amazing.

Alanis would work, the Dolly parton is retarded.. how could you think of that?

Sheryl Crow... that would work on a slower song.
