Kick'n back in the shadows...

So I was leaving work, listening to Better and I started thinking about how that rolling stone critic did his quasi-review of the leaked tracks and how he thought that there was a girl singing in the beginning of Better. Then it occurred to me that, as far as I know, Axl never did a duet / dueling vocals song w/ a female singer... and I thought it could possibly be pretty cool if it were the right person...So... what living (so no Janis Joplin) female singer do u think could pull of song w/ Axl ? Some-one who has a similar vocal style or one that compliment Axl's.

something on the loud side: Joan Jett
something on the acoustic side: Lucinda Williams
And c'mon, on the dead side, forget Janis Joplin. WENDY O. WILLIAMS. PLASMASTICS.

Winehouse, Pink, Fiona Apple or Alanis Morisette (the last one would be very interesting to see...)

Fiona Apple Fiona is the most obvious choice since Axl has gone on the record as saying he enjoyed her music. Granted that was about 9-10 years ago...but... Also at the VMA's he seemed quite taken w/ Christina Aguilera's singing abilities, so...you never know. My preference would be more of an "unknown" like Nellie McKay or Erin McKeown.

PATTI SMITH!!!!!!!!!!! Good call! Maybe the only one I'd be interested in hearing. Only if both of them can recapture their reckless side again though.

Definetly... most of the women mentioned here are pop artist... I would like to hear some old school kick ass duet. Patti Smith's "Twelve" is one of the best covers album that I remember (with TSI? of course ) Their version of Rolling Stones of Gimme Shelter kick many asses... I would love hearing Axl n' Patti alive singin' Gimme Shelter... that could turn my skin into a chicken one
