Hypothetically speaking?

Axl?s strength lies in his epics??Estranged,?? November Rain,? etc. Now, imagine an opera, four to six  hours long, filled with Axl?s soul-searching epics? The story would involve lots of solos, fat women with horned helmets and the story would center around unrequited love.

It would give Tommy a run for its money.

It's not that crazy. I would love to see him do that way down the line.

No way. Maybe a musical but not the opera. confused My head would probably explode if I had to listen to those screaming ladies.

"It would give Tommy a run for its money."

And it would make Stinson just plain run.

If Axl Rose wrote an opera, I would immediately disassociate myself as a fan of GNR. The guy is too much of a badass to write
one.

It has nothing to do with who is a badass or anything like that. Simply does one have the talent to write something that big. and I think Axl could do it and do it right!!!

I agree. Dennis Deyoung did a great job of making THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME into a musical. When I met Del james in Las Vegas, I told him it would be cool for him and Axl to do a GUNSNROSES CHRISTMAS CAROL. Axl could play Scrooge, MEATLOAF could be GHOST OF CHRISTMAS PRESENT, and Buckethead could be Ghost of Christmas Future.

He smiled and laughed. I told him this after I said that his writing in THE LANGUAGE OF FEAR reminded me of Charles Dickens.

I'm assuming you mean a rock opera. Not a regular opera.....  Huh

I'm also assuming you're joking.... Considering the kind of topics you usually start.

But in any case.

I guess first you'd need the concept album.

That in itself could be the rock opera. One album with songs that are connected somehow.

If My Chemical Romance managed to do it, I don't have any doubt that Axl could if he wanted to.

He could do all that--but I'd like it to be old-school, Germanic style--with fat women with horns.
