I really should get this, although I don't know whether my laptop could run it, it's not exactly designed for games. I haven't touched one of these games in years.
My favourite has always been Champ Man 2: 97/98, being Dos based it won't run on my Vista-ized laptop, which sucks.
The only game of the series I picked up after that was round about 2000 I think.
Now unfortunately it was very slow on the computer I had then, but I wasn't keen anyway because I felt they'd over complicated it and overdone it. What I liked about Champ Man 2 was the simplicity of it all. Buy/Sell, Training, Tactics, Contracts....simple. I still wish they'd re-release an updated version on that engine.
It was cool watching those videos, especially the 2nd one where they interview people about it, it's so true the amount of time you can lose in these games me and my friends would often spend into weekends stopping up until the sun was rising, you do really get so engrossed in them. It's amusing how they said people actually use the database to scout for players and how realistic it can be and that good 16 or 17 year olds on the game turn out to be good in real life. (Wasn't the case in 97/98....John Curtis never became England Captain, he always did for me though
