There was something like a free 90 days in the Fan Club back during the '06 tour if you bought tickets from the GNR website. I don't think anything ever happened with it, though. (I think I remember something about a discount from the store of some kind - but I may be wrong on that.)

What do people want in a fan club?

the way i see it is the only major thing a fan club would be great for these days is to get access to exclusive tickets that the general public doesn't have, something like what pearl jam's club does.

Don't forget the annual Christmas club single. It'd be cool if GN'R put out an annual "single" of 3 or 4 covers or B-sides with their fan club.

A t-shirt would be fantastic!  Maybe a poster.

A lot of great things could be done to thank the fans for all their support.

I've only signed up at their site for "news and updates" about 15 times over the last half-decade.  hihi

I would love to fly the new logo flag...

anything!   crying

I've just always assumed this place is as close to a "fan club" as I'll ever see.  It's nice to see support for Axl and the band.

A fan club idea would be great, and I think in particular it would be a great idea for fans to connect with the 'new' band members, not necessarily just centered on Axl.

They can offer pre-sales for shows. They can offer exclusive meet and greets with the band members. They can have competitions for free merch and signed items from the band members. They can have tour blogs from some or all of the band members. They can stream and host downloads of exclusive new songs, live shows etc. The possibilities are endless.

HTGTH had some fantastic pre-sales for its members for the 2006 tour.  Wink

Most of the guys have their own sites and MySpaces.

The possibilities are endless.

For sure dude, once everything gets done we will see some cool stuff!

They used to have one years ago. I'm sure the postal address was on the Appetite and Lies covers somewhere. I'd say thats well gone now though. Snail mail isn't as popular these days.

Yeah I know what you mean, but most of the band members now are respectful of what happens behind the scenes with GNR hence they don't go out of their way to openly talk about their experiences with GNR. Once the album comes out and things get rolling with them perhaps then they can talk more about their work on the album, life on the road etc.

The whole Fan club thing was suppose to tie into the album being released back in 06.  Incase you haven't read Axl's open letter the album wasn't ready so they probaly nixed the fan club idea.
