Well, I guess that makes me and ol' Axl even then.  He has disrespected me on at least 2 occasions when I had to sit and wait 3 hours plus for him to get his ass onstage.

Oh really?

Did you get a crappy show?

Ever heard of this thing called rock n' roll?

/jarmo

No, the show was great but that is beside the point.

Ever heard of a thing called prfessionalism?  I have been to hundreds of shows and Axl is the only one who has made me wait like that.

But if you are a fan, and know GnR, and theyr history. You knew there was a chance that they might show up late, before you went to the show?

Is it?

So you were disrespected by Axl because he gave you your money's worth instead of pretending.

I see your point!  hihi

I've seen plenty of shows that didn't start exactly at 9PM or 10PM. And yes, some have started hours after 9PM.

What a stupid thing to whine about.

This may be an unpopular stance, but I agree with Nytunz.  If you know GN'R and what their tendencies are, and most of the people who post here do, you can't honestly be surprised by that.  And if you knew that was a possibility going into the show, and you went ahead and purchased tickets for the show and attended, I think you forfeit your right to complain about it afterwards.

The money I have spent on copies of AFD, UYIs, and Lies plus tix and t-shirts, posters, etc. prove otherwise.

Well, I guess that makes me and ol' Axl even then.  He has disrespected me on at least 2 occasions when I had to sit and wait 3 hours plus for him to get his ass onstage.

Maybe GNR was making sure you had enough time to buy all the souvenirs you might want or food and drinks or go to the bathroom or whatever before they started the show so you wouldn't miss anything.  How were they supposed to know that you were just gonna sit there whining with your thumb up your ass?

Yeah, a few minutes late is fine, even a half an hour I can live with.  I realize shit happens sometimes.  But 3 fuckin' hours is completely ridiculous.

I bet I know which band kept you waiting for hours!

The first time I saw them they went on stage pretty close to the set time.  The next time was the Metallica tour and Axl was mad about a ham not being cooked correctly and made us wait for 3+ hours.  There was a nice titty show to help pass the time.  F rom this show on I knew what to expect, didn't make it any easier, but I knew.

Marilyn Manson...

According to the promoter, the start time was 9PM and end time at 11PM. He came on after 11PM....

He was sick but he didn't want to cancel so he made people wait until he could go on and sing....

The real fans expect the band to take the stage late, knowing this why did you arrive so early then? Regardless you still got your moneys worth after all was said and done. I went so far out on a limb to see them, 8000 or so miles there was every possibility, they would not show, and that in itself would have been my own fate, I knew it before I made the choice. Even though the trip turned out in my favor, and it was worth every red cent, dissapointment would have heavily weighed in, but I would never stop loving and supporting  my favorite band, nor would I feel like I had the right to just help myself to the unreleased music, cuz I felt let down by them. I went by Greyhound from New York to Portland, ME.

About seven hours by bus, the show was canceled.

Did I cry and think Axl disrespected me?

No. I went out and had fun anyway.

So here you are in a thread that has NOTHING to do with the shows whining about how you had to wait for three hours in the 90s.

Are you gonna get over it soon?

No. Not the same thing.

Next time there's a GN'R show, make Axl "wait" for you.

Then you're truly even.

Show up at 3AM!  ok

Then you can be proud of yourself.

C'mon Mr. GNR historian, the Vegas show was in this millenium not in the 90s.

Didn't you mention driving in the snow?

That's what you get for taking the car in the winter!

Ok, in 2001. Wow.

You saw them play a historical show and here you are whining about the starting time.

Wasn't that the show that was supposed to start at 1-2am or something?

And it was pushed back because one of those professional band's (the Goo Goo Dolls) show ran longer than expected.

Isn't that already past your bed time? That must be late for somebody who's used to professional bands who go on time....

Everybody wins.  Cheesy

You show Axl who the boss is, and we don't have to hear your crying!

Problem solved!

Here is the basic premise of my arguement:  Axl's songs have a value to him, correct?  My time has a value to me.  His songs leaked and that can't be undone.  My time spent waiting can't be replaced.  You say he gave me a good show and a historical one and I agree.  I say I gave him money for the shows. All that being said, I justify the guilt free listening of the leaks as payment for my time in the past.

Also, I think that you are the first person ever to use the word "professionalism" and Goo Goo Dolls in the same sentence!!

Your time isn't mentioned in any laws is it?

Axl's songs fall under copyright laws.

You must have a lot of people to get even with.

Did you ever take a train or bus that was late? Airplane?

Did you have to wait for food at a restaurant?

Did you ride the bus for free because it wasn't on time? Maybe you didn't pay for the food either?

You trying to justify stealing other people's work and putting it online is ridiculous.

You basically went from somebody who enjoyed listening to an artist's music into thinking you are owed and you have the right to do what ever you want for being "disrespected".

Also, I think that you are the first person ever to use the word "professionalism" and Goo Goo Dolls in the same sentence!!

I bet you must appreciate them for going on stage on time!

I prefer bands who rock....

Actually, I live in Pleasantville, where evrything runs on time all of the time!

Yeah, whatever, you know you are wearing a GG Dolls t-shirt at this very moment and listening to their greatest hits (do they have any?) at maximum volume.

Wasn't that the show that was supposed to start at 1-2am or something?

Actually, the ticket stub read 'DOORS@1AM'.  That's when the doors were supposed to open, not when the show was supposed to start.  I got there at two-something and the line was still wrapped around the casino.
