For months I've been attacked and ridiculed for not allowing this site to become a publicity vehicle for these people looking for attention by posting music that's not theirs.

Now that this person, who broke the law, was arrested, I'm also attacked for not listening to the songs he put on his web site.

BLOGGER ARRESTED FOR LEAKING 9 GN'R SONGS

According to multiple news reports, a blogger suspected of posting songs on the Internet from the forthcoming Guns N' Roses album Chinese Democracy was arrested Wednesday and appeared in court, where his bail was set at $10,000. FBI agents arrested 27-year-old Kevin Cogill on suspicion of violating federal copyright laws by posting nine unreleased Guns N' Roses songs in June. According to an arrest affidavit, Cogill admitted to FBI agents that he leaked the songs.

"Guns N' Roses representatives have been made aware of the arrests and are leaving the matter to the authorities," said band spokesman Larry Solters.

Its funny that people come on here and try to attack Jarmo  I guess they can't handle this being the best GnR message board website.  9 songs off the forthcoming album chinese democracy this guy should atleast be punished and then work for gnr road crew to pay off his debt for uploading those 9 songs.

The law didn't exist in 2003.


Also, people keep mentioning certain news sites linking to the files. That's true. But they never uploaded the files themselves.



There's all kinds of reasons why these scenarios are different. You just refuse to acknowledge them time after time after time. Why?

Not sure where i refused to acknowledge anything Jarmo, shit if the law wasn't in place then i guess trunk isn't really guilty of anything, i was really just throwing it out there to see what people thought i wasn't aware of the law not existing until more recent years.

my point is only: the guy did something which is wrong but why did he do that?
I don't said it's the band fault in a direct way, the fact is: the band/record company is already talking about new songs and a new CD since... I don't know 1999 or something... ? Since then they're giving the fans hope with 'soon is the word' or 'album is ready, tentative release dates'....
so all those things make that new songs are 'big secrets' in a sort of way and some people cannot keep a secret...

none of that changes the law.   its pretty black and white.
