I gave away my turntable years ago along with speakers that functioned as furniture.  Can you even buy turntables any more?  I must say this product doesn't really interest me but I do miss the art work on the album covers.  I think I still have a Sticky Fingers with the zipper.  Might have to pass that along to Dizzy if he really wants it.

This may apply...

To celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the long-playing record, Universal Music Group is delighted to announce the release of 80 titles (in four batches) on much-loved 30cm black vinyl across 2008. All will be exact replicas of the original packages and will contain a voucher enabling the purchaser to download MP3 versions of the songs within.

I'd much rather download "Shackler's Revenge".........

I guess it's cool that it's on vinyl but it's an album that is 21 yrs old.  Who cares?

I have that Sticky Fingers! Grin  Was my Dad's-played once to tape and then put back into the plastic.

I think it's a pretty cool idea to commemorate.

I'm sure it's meant to be just a "collector's item" - not really meant for play.  I thought it was cool that it has the original cover.

I don't see why people are upset about this.

It's cool if you are a collector, or a listener of vinyl records.

It's an in-demand item.  Why not satisfy that demand?

You know what, though?  You DO have a collector's item.  The original is hard to come by.  This re-release, cool as it is, is a re-release - not the original.  I'd love to have an original - in the wrap - unopened - never touched.

Too bad they didn't do this last year when the 20 Year Anniversary rolled around, would've been a lot more appropriate.

I agree. Although it would be interesting to hear the current bands take on AFD, not to mention have those songs in better quality. I say do it now while Robin is gone. hihi
