Slash at Lolla, VMAs?
«

I just heard that Slash is at Lollapalooza and will appear as a special guest on the KidZ stage. Don't know with who and when and frankly, don't care.
The dude can't stop whoring even when he has nothing to promote......Stalker! Take a vacation or something....it's summer.
There's also strong rumors going around he is filming a piece for and may make an appearance at the VMAs.......

Slash gets himself in trouble with drugs and alcohol when he takes time off.....if you read his biography he's the first too admit it....

You posted these rumours just to criticize them? What a waste of time for something you just "don´t care" about.

How is Slash playing at Lollapalooza and possibly appearing at the VMA's "Whoring Himself"?
I don't think any of the following things are wrong, but I also don't see how they are different that what Slash is doing...
Axl appears the the VMA's to introduce The Killers
Robin Tours with NIN
Dizzy tours with a band of former 80 hair metal rockers
Richard plays with several indi bands (sometimes with Frank)
Bumble headlined the WAAF Locobazoka (their version of a local band lollapalooza)
All of those people are "staying busy"... but Slash is selling out?

My sources are radiostations. I still call them rumors because I am not sure how credible they are. In any case, I am not starting any rumors.

Lollapalooza 2008: Slash joins Perry Farrell, Samantha Ronson for impromptu unplugged, singalong rendition of "Jane Says"
Published Saturday, Aug 2, 2008
Long the worst-kept secret of Lollapalooza 2008, rock guitar legend Slash joined festival organizer Perry Farrell, his wife Etty Lau Farrell and paparazzi-magnet DJ Samantha Ronson on stage Saturday afternoon for a rousing but technically-handicapped singalong performance of Farrell classic "Jane Says."
Lured by text-message alerts announcing the former Guns N' Roses and Velvet Revolver guitar player's appearance, festival-goers packed into the tent shell where they first took in a DJ set from Ronson and a handful of techno-infused original songs performed by Farrell and his wife, a former backup dancer who worked the crowd in a saucy, leggy polkadot ensemble.
Slash emerged much later than expected, frustrating many, but delighting the anxious crowd nonetheless, judging by the roar that errupted as he strapped on his trademark black Gibson Les Paul, plucked a few chords and gave the audience a quick grin.
Slash kept to power chords and rhythm accompaniment for the two Farrell originals he joined in on, watching the former Jane's Addiction frontman's guitar player for the chord changes and puffing away on a cigarette as he played. His one solo was less than memorable, but no one seemed to care.
Near the end of the tune, the sound system cut out on the group leaving the Farrell's awkwardly singing into muted microphones while Slash played only through his onstage monitor. Farrell motioned to cut the song short and they cleared the stage.
Shants of "Slash! Slash!" filled the tent until the performers returned to launch into "Jane Says." But again, the sound system cut out, this time only about 24 bars into the tune.
This time Farrell and friends rolled with it, motioning for the audience to sing along with them. And they did, turning what would have been a minor disaster into a familial singalong of a classic song, led by its hip-thrusting, arm-waving pied-piper originator.
Unable to address the crowd through the PA at the end of the song, Farrell simply brought Ronson back onto the stage, where the foursome was joined by the Farrell's kids and Slash's as well, playing up the family vibe of the affair, before disappearing backstage, to golf carts and away.

Well, I think you're a real motherfucker! I'm sure you don't mind since it's just my personal opinion.
If you don't like Slash what the fuck are you doing on a GN'R board anyways? And if you're only here to support the "new" band stay out of the Ex-Gunners category.

slash hasn't been in GnR since 1995. in those last 13 years, a lot of people have moved on with the times, just like you should.

So what are you doing in the "Ex Gunners" section? Isn't Robin Finck touring with NIN these days? I guess you should move on and change your avatar.
People seem to forget that without Axl, Slash, Duff, Izzy and Steven we probably never would have known this little band called Guns N' Roses or any of its members.

you're right, what was i thinking. Lets build a shrine to AFD. Lets just live in the past and forget that this is 2008 and that there is a current band called Guns N' Roses.
I'm not saying people can't be fans of $la$h, but 13 years after his departure from the band, you can't expect everyone to be fans because a lot of time has passed and other people have come into the band.
and yes Robin is kicking ass with NIN, but that doesn't mean he's no longer in guns and I'm a robin fan regardless of what band hes in. if he were to leave guns you wouldnt' see me trolling GnR sites talking asking people what they are doing on a GnR board if they aren't fans of him.

true enough he hasn't been in GnR since 1995; but 85-90% of GnR's set lists when they tour revolve around songs slash was a MAJOR CONTRIBUTOR to;
that being said, it's only natural to compare how the new guys play what slash wrote
maybe to prevent this, GnR should stick to songs the new guys contributed too when they tour so they don't have tokeep being compared to their past; I mean, I don't know how many times I've heard that some of the new members have been inthe band as long as slash and co.
of course-what would they play since they haven't released anything new since 91
