I'd go with the one in "up all night" by Slaughter...sounds like a scale.

The solo in Knock em' dead Kid could have been better. Mick Mars is an exellent guitarist, that solo is not Tongue

Something To Believe In by CC Deville

Only cause that song is so emotional and awesome and CC comes in with a solo that is just him showing off and not serving the song.  I think its horrible.

Keith Richards solo on Sympathy for the devil

is that even a guitar?!? What a weird shrieking, odd, and utterly horrible noise

You just lost all credibility as a poster with this comment. Roll Eyes  That's what a guiter solo should sound like!  rant

You're a distortion junky aren't you? Huh

In regular bands, and by regular I mean a normal rock band as opposed to a guitar virtuoso like Malmsteen, in those bands, any solo that isn't there to artistically reinforce the song can be considered a "bad" solo. When it comes to the Vai's of the world and musicians like that, I don't fault them for superfluous playing or for their theatrics because their careers are based mostly ON their technique. So I fully expect and am more than happy to bear witness to the upper limits of what they can do.
