VELVET REVOLVER Drummer MATT SORUM To Guest On SAMMY HAGAR's New Album - July 15, 2008

VELVET REVOLVER/ex-GUNS N' ROSES drummer Matt Sorum will record a song in San Francisco with Sammy Hagar, original VAN HALEN bassist Michael Anthony and guitarist Billy Duffy of THE CULT for Sammy's upcoming solo album, marking a reunion in the studio for Sorum ? who was THE CULT's drummer ? and Duffy.

This Thursday, July 17, CAMP FREDDY ? featuring Sorum and bandmates Billy Morrison, Dave Navarro, Donovan Leitch and Chris Chaney ? will play the "Stamping Out Disease" benefit gig at the Viper Room in West Hollywood. Proceeds of this show will go towards helping to offset medical costs for music industry veteran and CAMP FREDDY road manager Scott P, who has been diagnosed with cancer. The band will also auction off a Les Paul guitar from the stage (donated by Gibson Guitars) which will be signed by every performer that evening. Tickets are $50 and available at www.viperroom.com.musictoday.com.

On Saturday, July 19, CAMP FREDDY head to Las Vegas to play the grand opening of the new Wasted Space nightclub at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. The classy, yet punk rock attire worn by the club's bartenders and waitresses was designed by Sorum Noce, the high-end line of rock couture from Sorum and veteran fashion designer Max Noce. CAMP FREDDY will be joined by surprise guests at this special gig and will also play with show openers DARLING STILETTOS, in their first performance with their new singer BC Jean. The all-female trailblazing punk rock dance troupe ? Ace, Gina, Jersey, Lindsey, Megan and BC ? is currently recording their debut CD with Sorum and Stevie Salas (guitarist for MICK JAGGER, ROD STEWART, GEORGE CLINTON) producing and Chris Lord Alge (GREEN DAY, B.B. KING, THE BLACK EYED PEAS, BAD RELIGION) mixing.

Hagar's fall from grace continues...

I'm no Hagar fan by any means but why would including 3 guys with their resume's/pedigree contribute to any "fall from grace"?

From Sammy Hagar...

July 17, 2008

"LOUD"

Redheads....it happened! I can't remember the how, what, where and when's the decision was made, (you know how I am with details), but this week Billy Duffy, Matt Sorum, Michael Anthony and I tracked a song titled, "Loud"! And you know for a fact that title fits the song perfectly! It Rocks!
Mikey and I also just finished up a video for another new song! We've been busy boys! Hope you have as much fun listening to the music as we've had making it!
Peace,
Sammy

That's pretty cool!  Sounds like it might end up being a pretty good album!  We'll have to wait and see/listen.

SAMMY HAGAR's 'Cosmic Universal Fashion': Details Revealed - Sep. 16, 2008

Multi-platinum Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Sammy Hagar will release a new album on Loud & Proud Records on November 18. "Cosmic Universal Fashion" marks the first official release for Loud & Proud, a Roadrunner Records imprint focusing on established artists. The title track and first single, "Cosmic Universal Fashion", was written as an online collaboration between Hagar and a young Iraqi rock and roller by the name of Steven Lost. Released via Sammy's web site RedRocker.com and already a YouTube sensation, the video (see below) was produced in the same spirit as the classic VAN HALEN video for "Right Now" and strikes a timely chord with November's upcoming Presidential election.

"We are lightyears ahead of where we thought we'd be in 1992, yet there will always be issues that continue to need our attention," said Hagar. "With the upcoming election, global and national issues are at the forefront of everyone's minds. 'Cosmic Universal Fashion' is not about supporting left or right, blue or red, but rather an attempt to appeal to people on a personal level to get involved."

"Cosmic Universal Fashion" track listing:

01. Cosmic Universal Fashion
02. Psycho Vertigo
03. Peephole
04. LOUD
05. Fight For Your Right To Party
06. Switch On The Light
07. When The Sun Don't Shine
08. 24365
09. I'm On A Roll
10. Dreams/Cabo

Loud & Proud President Tom Lipsky comments, "Great artists make great music. Sammy Hagar and 'Cosmic Universal Fashion' prove that once again. I am thrilled that he is kicking off the partnership between Loud & Proud Records and Roadrunner Records."

Cool. Thanks.  Sorum plays pretty good there.  That would be cool if they toured like that.
