The "What I Did On My Day Off" Thread

I work in Law Enforcement and it's been a busy month right, I've been working doubles all week as the older dudes go on vacation and I only get one day off this week. Well I finally get one day off which I was going to spend doing laundry and just sleeping. Well my washer fucks up and I have to go to the laundromat in town. I get there at like 7 AM...just stick a load in and some old man comes up and says I think someone's sleeping down on the river there, I poked him with a stick (yes, he said he poked him with a stick) and he didn't move. So I go running down and dude's been laying there for a few hours and there were signs of a struggle. I call dispatch and apparently I'm on duty now...yay!
So boom, there goes my day off.........five hours later and I'm still in my cargo shorts and tank top holding people away from the scene while the State Police forensics team comes in.

Oh yeah dude checked out alright. The funny thing was the old dude was like, "I think something is wrong with that guy...he's sleeping and I yelled at him and he didn't respond." So I go running over and stop in my tracks like, "yeah there's definitely something wrong with him alright." I couldn't think of any awesome Dirty Harry one liners to rattle off, but I tried.
Turns out I actually took vacation days today and tomorrow (I had forgotten all about them!!) I'm going to NYC here in four hours for the All-Star game tonight and a Ricky Gervais show.

Here's one for all you rockers out there!
I was invited to see the opera Turandot by a *nameless* foreign diplomat (Italian).I accepted his invitation and saw a really uplifing performance. What a great love story! Many people leaving the show were buzzing. I loved the huge Chinese gong on stage and the male lead - what a dish!
Rock On!
Some of the translations were really quaint. eg: Do not Profane Me!
Thanks for the VIP treatment in the Banquet Room. Much appreciated.

I had one day off this week, I worked on the house, did paperwork stuff for my business and changed diapers.

You're going to love it.........I was already familiar with the 3 live shows he had done before (subject matter) and it was still utterly hilarious to hear in person other than DVD. I was 3rd row from the front.........Wamu was a fucking beautiful theater, absolutely loved the lights above the seats.
As for the All-Star game.........it was boring as shit. I left at about the 11th inning and made my way back to Manhattan. Now it's back to work tomorrow damnit.

Well I had a day off today, so I watched some
Numb3rs
and
Dexter
in bed, listened to some tunes, had a bit of banter with mates on msn, went to the
Gym
about four, did some shopping, got home, chilled some more, treadmill, tv and now listening to
Monster Magnet
and typing this message, nice relaxing day like.

Yes, he was really, really funny. I was familiar with some of it but it was even better live - especially the AIDS leaflet routine and Humpty Dumpty. Wamu is a cool venue, we saw Chris Rock there a couple of months ago which was also hysterical.
