If you could make your own GNR tribute album...where you picked all the bands...and all the songs they covered, what would it be like?  Let's say for sake of discussion...no more than 12 songs.

Here's mine:

1.  Chris Cornell - Nightrain (modified from Soundgarden)
2.  Foo Fighters - Think About You
3.  Tool - Coma
4.  Green Day - Pretty Tied Up
5.  Nine Inch Nails - Oh My God
6.  Tom Petty - One In A Million
7.  The Killers - You Could Be Mine
8.  Beck - Don't Cry
9.  The White Stripes - 14 Years
10.  The Mars Volta - Estranged
11.  Radiohead - Patience
12.  Metallica - Rocket Queen

Interesting idea.

But to make it a bit more realistic, how about bands that exist today? Or at least collaborations that could happen.

So you'd have to change track #1. Wink

I have always wanted to hear Coldplay cover Patience.  I just think it would really suit them for some reason.

« Reply #14 on: July 15, 2008, 09:03:07 AM »

cool thread, have to think 'bout it for a while..

Slipknot - You Could Be Mine
Down - Mr. Brownstone
Buckcherry - It's So easy
Zakk Wylde - SCOM
Tool - Coma
Sebastian Bach+Dr. Dre - Paradise City

can't decide on Korn or RATM doing locomotive, or some collaboration like on PC Smiley
or maybe LInkin Park doing PC since they have a rapper and screamer, damn RATM could also be doing PC hihi
some other cool shit would be doing RQ+it taste good don't it.. some band could do the start of the song, eminem comes in doing "it taste good don't it" then a third dude (like Steven Tyler) or maybe a woman singing the beatiful ending  Cheesy

this would be the fucking best tribute album ever

some other bands/artists that gotta be there as well is, NIN, marilyn manson, some rap/hiphop like dr.dre, eminem, nas, maybe RATM..  korn, maybe backyard babies, avenged sevenfold, gotta figure out the right songs  Smiley
