You are nuts.  This is one of the best tracks on the album.  I even have friends that thought that is a great song and they can't stand Guns...

It has the most repetitive chorus in "Gn'R" history.

The best things about it are the guitar solo and the 3 seconds of riff at the start.

How many hit singles are there without repetitive chorus?

the guitar solo and stuff from 2:18 is bliss.  yes

One of the worst tracks on the album, only a die-hard could see it as single material. Their not getting a no. 1 with this.

"Street Of Dreams" is the opposite of that description, release it.

I say people who don't like this song are fans of the old band.  Its Guns N' Roses new sound ! its 2009 ! not 1989.

I'd say they are dedicated to the particular late 80s sound. You can be a fan of the old band and still love the song/new sound.

Yeah some of them are  ok

I understand tastes differ but this is one of the better tracks, if not the best, as far as I'm concerned.  It's usually the first song I put on...

Personally, I really don't care about repetitiveness.  If it's a good song and it works then fine.  I think the song itself is more a display of guitar work anyway.

Are your friends also nuts? hihi

tastes differ. Nevertheless shackler's is a killer tune.

I have Shackler's Revenge set as the first wake-up alarm on my iPod alarm clock-radio.  It's very effective.  hihi

What's wrong with being a fan of the old band? Do you not like Estranged too...?

You think "Street Of Dreams" sounds like it would fit in on... "Gn'R Lies"?

I think Shackler's is in the same league as Welcome to the Jungle albeit less overplayed. It's a really badass rock song.

AXL SLASH DUFF = GOAT

« Reply #2074 on: December 05, 2009, 12:58:43 PM »

I think it'll be interesting to see how Axl pulls this song off live.  With the verses on the record he's singing with both his upper and lower registers almost equally.  I suppose they may use a backing track or perhaps the band can pull it off.  What other songs in the GN'R catalog have Axl using two voices so prominently and simultaneously on record?  Locamotive is similar to this I think.  How often did they play that during the UYI tours?

I guess Dizzy/Ron/Tommy or DJ could take care of it.

Bumblefoot in Israel.

He talks a bit about how he plays the song live and also demonstrates it.

The song rocks live by the way.

Wow, seeing that really helps you to get a sense of the layers of the song...

That tapping sequence is totally Bumblefoot, and yet it goes perfectly with the song.  ok
