Like it's been mentioned before, a better stereo setup will make your listening experience something else.

After weeks of listening, it's still amazing how you hear new things.

Things you didn't pay attention to, or notice, before.

Yet all those parts are what makes the song what it is.

The song rips your head off. Can't believe its not a single. It's not industrial, its a pure "original" hybrid rock song. Takes several listens to understand this.

It's not industrial

I've always thought it sounded very industrial.

I agree. It took me a while to get into this song. I hated it at first. It took a while for it to grow on me. It's definitely "original"

Or Front 242.  I think you're getting at those bands are true industrial music, and "Shackler's Revenge" sounds nothing like any of them.  Or Nine Inch Nails.

I think people slap on the industrial label because they either don't realize a lot of the "effects" are Buckethead on guitar, or they just want an easy and convenient label to slap on the song.

I'll need to first listen to the three bands you listed to decide what SR sounds like most but as far as the song itself, it just sounds industrial from start to finish to me. Almost polished manufactured.

The only industrial thing about this song is the intro.

Seems like putting labels on things is what some people do.

Everything needs to be labeled.

So if something doesn't sounds like it was made with just guitars, bass and drums, it's either techno or industrial. Wink

If you think this song sounds industrial then you should reconsider your idea of industrial music.  Listening to those bands might help.

While I can believe that it's not a single, I don't think the the song sounds terrifically industrial. I think this is a tag people want to put on it because certain segments (with respect to the song) are a bit grating. To be honest, upon my first few listens, I hated it. Alot. I have to say though that with a few more listens it has become one of my favorites on the new album. That hook is just amazing. I don't know if it works so well because it rests between rocking sections that are anything but harmonic, but when the hook hits, that song takes off into the stratosphere.
