Cooooooooooooool, sounds much better than the muffled version I have
Its catchy and poppy, theres an undeniable Rob Zombie vibe to the song, and its its short and sweet. It sounds like Axl and co. were actually having fun and made a simple catchy song.
I dont understand people unhappy that its not an epic, deep and meaningful earth shaker - that kind of song would be wasted on a platform like this, Shackler's Revenge sounds like an ideal choice.
I dont like the intro, those heavy computerised effects are already sounding dated to me, but I can live with it.
There is something about this song that reminds me of Think About You, I dont know what exactly, the structure and simple chorus are kind of similar. It sounds like Think About You on steriods, thinking back to the "Appetite on sterioids" quote. Or I'm going slightly mad
I agree man. The song is perfect to jam to on a video game like this and pretty cool to workout to or work outside to or something - but if it's true that it won't be the first single, then I think that's a good choice as well. The 1st single needs to be something a little more polished and musically impressive, especially after all of this time - This song is fun, but it's not something that's gonna go down as a classic Gnr tune, imo -
Damn- I love the diversity of the new band, that's for sure

THAT'S GREAT!
I'll finally be able to play this later this after noon. I'm quite excited about the idea of getting to drum and sing on this track!

I am cool with the exclusiveness at firs.t Give it till mid October and the ball will get rolling.
I believe NOV 25th is the date.
because that is right around Black Friday and thats when EVERYTHING sells as someone mentioned earlier.
so, U release Shackler's or even do the Metallica thing where u release a bunch of singles leading up to the album release and its gonna be HUGE.
Shackler's could come out around Mid October, that gives a solid month of promotion till the CD is released. I hate when bands release singles 2 months before the album. That is too big of a gap.
Plus, they still have to shoot a video etc.
I am shocked that the vocals are only rated as a 2. Although Axl does do a lot of his baritone voice in this song.

Does the song sound different depending on how you play it?
If you screw up on the guitar and drums...can you hear it during the gameplay?

For the people who do not like the song so much right now need to to have a more open mind and ears. Some are sayin it doesnt sound like "guns" but you must realized that, imo, alot of the new songs wont sound like the old guns! its a new band and axl has always been one to change it up as time passes. This is a really good song that you can rock out to, give it time and it will grow on everyone when they get the feel for the new G n R.

Well, u have to be able to seperate Guns N Roses from Guns N Roses
If you are an Appetite GNR fan, this song is gonna hit u in a shocking way cause it is completely different.
So, u have to listen not expecting the GNR sound u grew up with as its a different band therefore a different sound.

Listening to it for about the 50th time...god I hope there are no hidden messages or satanic instructions hidden in here, or I'm a gonner
...anyway, the drum beat struck me as odd at first (but so did Mr. Brownstone)...catchy but a little more dance-beat than I would have expected. Also the style of the solo - seems a little random, or maybe technical rather than the guitar 'singing' ala NR,etc. Axl wasn't kidding when he said there would be different stuff on the new album...this is very different, and I like it. I may sing a different tune if the whole album (or albums) sounds like this, but right now my excitement level is higher than it has been since '99 - after I heard there was a new Gn'R track!
I must agree (several posts, didn't want to quote), if you were living in a soundproof box since AFD, this could cause a shock - but for the UYI & diehard fans this is clearly just another raising of the bar by Axl. Its like Paradise City, You Could Be Mine, and Oh My God had a little drunken love fest...and Shackler came along 9 months later (Ok, 9 years later).
I will give it 4 of 5 stars...just as soon as it's available for download.
