I think it's a joke.

most likely, maybe it's a  reference to the lyrics or the bands name Tongue

They rank all the Rock band 2 songs, by difficulty, by instrument (including vocals).

50th on Vocals.

13th on Guitar

29th on Bass

56th on Drums

25th on Band

The lower the number, the harder they rate the song.

The new Entertainment Weekly (#1009) has a story on Rock Band vs. Guitar Hero w/ a picture of Axl in a montage of musicians and the text says this:

"Guns N' Roses say they will offer a single off Chinese Democracy exclusively through Rock Band, taking a cue from Motley Crue, whose latest single sold five times better as a Rock Band download than on iTunes."

Wow just imagine !! GnR is ten times more popular than Motley Crue.  Im sure they could do better with I-Tunes too but that ain't the point, the way to go today is releasing music on video games like Rockband.

Interesting.  Are all songs on Rock Band available for download?  I'd say this would be likely to happen, but is it a definite?

I don't think he's played the game. Note his comment a few posts up about youtube.

A point of clarification: Rock Band download is just that - a song downloaded to be played on Rock Band. It's not an audio file. The Cr?e tune was Downloadable Content - essentially expansion content for the core game. Shackler's will be included on the Rock Band 2 disc: no download required. If a Shackler's single (in strictly audio format) is made available via download, it'll be through some other service (like iTunes), unrelated to Rock Band.

So does that imply an *additional* Democracy single will be available as a download in addition to Shackler's?

yea but the poster was replying to a question if nobody has heard the actual song in the game. So naturally people think of the song in the actual game not of youtube quality.

and I believe the game has  the jukebox mode in which you can listen to the songs in proper mix.

"New York ? August 29, 2008 ? Rock Band 2 ? the next incarnation of the cultural and video game phenomenon Rock Band ? is teaming up with LIFEbeat to shed some star power over the continued need for HIV/AIDS prevention in the week prior to the game?s launch.

On Saturday, September 6th at House of Blues in Los Angeles, Rock Band will enlist the help of Rock Band Live Tour artists Panic At The Disco and Plain White T?s for special short performances to bring awareness to LIFEbeat?s cause and celebrate the forthcoming launch of Rock Band 2. The ?Rock Band 2 Party to Benefit LIFEbeat? during MTV?s Video Music Awards weekend marks a unique occasion where stars, the music industry and true fans alike can all take in a hot show and fight for a cause with proceeds from the show benefiting LIFEbeat - The Music Industry Fights AIDS.

Attendees will rock out with a sneak peek and chance to play Rock Band 2 before it hits retail,
as well as enjoy musical appearances by Panic At The Disco and Plain White T?s. Tickets for the Rock Band 2 Party to Benefit LIFEbeat, an all ages event, are $50.00 for General Admission, with proceeds going to LIFEbeat. Tickets can be purchased at House of Blues Box Office and online at www.ticketmaster.com.

The VMA/LIFEbeat Concert has become a major staple in the 24-hour lead-up to the annual Video Music Award and allowed MTV to plant a major stake in the cultural ground by staging an exclusive concert featuring an on-the-verge artist or a major act (prior LIFEbeat acts include The Beastie Boys, The Bravery, Robin Thicke and Maroon 5)."

Well atleast one Robin will be there and it ain't Finck.  I wouldn't put too much into this, it would be cool if GnR would be involved but you never know.
