Maybe Bucket will be back and this pissed robin off?

I dunno. I wouldn't be surprised by anything at this point. I had no idea Robin and Bucket didn't like each other, can anone elaborate on that at all for me?

Would make sense if Bucket was back in but GNR/Axl doesnt always make sense.
Not aware of any issue between Robin and Buckethead but  two lead guitarists never really made sense to me
Perhaps bumblefoot is just gonna takeover from Buckethead and "Only Robin knows what Robin's doing."  peace

He said somewhere earlier in the thread that they HOPED it would be. I believe he also mentioned that in the next few weeks statement about the availability of the track as well.

I think he said yesterday that GN'R wants it to be the first single.

My guess is that until the album's release date is settled, then they can say for certain what is and what is not a lead single.

I'm wondering if this isn't some sort of testing of the water kind of thing for the record company.  Release this song, see what the reaction is and then release the whole record.  Why else wouldn't they use this to lead into the record?

I can't believe they'd put it only in the game, and shaft everyone else. I bet we see an iTunes release either same day, or a week earlier than the game's release.

Your jumping to conclusions. No where in any of the Rock Band 2 announcements did it say that the song was exclusive to the game. If it is indeed the lead single, they want people to hear the song and thus be interested in the band and buy the album. Having the song in this game is a great way to drive single sales and promote interest in the band.

For us hardcore fans, we'll be able to hear it as well. Mysteron said we will hear more from himself or Guns in the future about this matter.

No worries.

I really like buckethead, but I for one have to admit that ron is custom fit for this new band. Ok, maybe his skills aren't on the level of bucket, but he can get the job done, and we have yet to hear him on a recording yet so it may just be awesome.  I just think that bucket's onstage presence is extrmeley conflictive with the appearance of everyone else.  In '02 it was just crazy, you just look at everyone and their all doing their own thing, not really a band, bucket of course being very odd, but i understand thats just him.  I mean even robin had a look as many did then that was not 'gnr style'.  Fast forward to 06-07 and everything has just molded together from axl to robin, the addition of ron and frank just added to a better gnr. I don't mean for this to bash buckethead because i am a huge fan of his but he just does not fit into this new band. I could definitely see him doing guest roles on tracks, perhaps a few appearances w/the band on some songs but as far as a member again I don't see how it would help the overall image of the band. ok

Just wonder how much GNR will be used on TV Commercials etc as a tie in to the game. im sure they will really push this as a huge selling point.

WE know we are getting a single at least in September right?

Just wonder what kind of deal they have with Rockband....... wonder if its an agreement where they wait till the day of the release?

Shackler = Bucket song.
Shackler's Revenge = Song that Bucket played on at one stage,   May not be a bucket song, just like SCOM is not a Slash song.

They are different songs.   Just because Bucket played on it at one stage doesn't mean it's his, or even that his parts are still there.
