More from Billy Morrison on the Wasted Space gig in Vegas..

"Another busy weekend for Camp Freddy, with the benefit show last Thursday for Scott P at The Viper Room, followed by a quick trip to Vegas to open the new club at the Hard Rock Hotel And Casion, called Wasted Space. The hotel sent a plane for us (that?s how you roll when you own a casino!) so we had the pleasure of private travel. It?s something that you could really get used to??and completely ruins any regular commercial flight one might take in the future! So we hopped onto the plane and were in Las Vegas as quick as a flash.

Now I have to say that Las Vegas and the words ?acoustic performance? don?t exactly go together! But that?s what we were scheduled to do, so that?s what we did!! Gavin Rossdale also played before us, and did it acoustic style as well. Interesting vibe, especially in Las Vegas, but we had a blast anyway ? Matt was on the drum kit and the rest of us sat on stools and did the ?up close and personal? thing!! HAHA!! My favorite moment was getting to play ?What It?s Like? with Everlast ? one of my all time favorite tunes, he just walked onstage unannounced, sat down next to me, and I just started playing the riff!! Very cool. Royston Langdon and Billy Duffy were our guests ? we did a great version of The Cult?s Rain, and Royston nailed People Are Strange as well as his Spacehog hit, In The Meantime."

Wasted Space inside the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino officially opened its doors last night (7.19.08) giving Las Vegas a taste of the true rockstar lifestyle. Guests were treated to a special acoustic set from Gavin Rossdale and all-star rock band Camp Freddy. Guests included: co-owner Carey Hart; managing partner Cory McCormack; club partner Benji Madden of Good Charlotte; with girlfriend Paris Hilton; Billy Morrison, Dave Navarro, Donovan Leitch and Matt Sorum of Camp Freddy; Brendan Urie of Panic of the Disco; singer Everlast; Gavin Rossdale; Jon Dolmayan of System of a Down; singer Mandy Moore; Royston Langdon of the former music group Spacehog and recent Liv Tyler ex; Maynard James Keenan of Tool; Shayne Lamas, bombshell from 'The Bachelor'; reality show heartthrob Brody Jenner; actor Stephen Baldwin; rapper Ice-T and wife Coco; boxer Mike Tyson; Joshua Lebar of Entourage; actress Jennifer Tilly; Billy Duffy of The Cult, Miss Nevada Veronica Grabowski and more.

Mandy Moore was spotted hanging out at a nearby table with Lorenzo Fertitta and Mike Tyson was seen stopping by to say hello. Mandy was also spotted later chatting and laughing with Brody. A couple tables over, Benji and Paris were inseparable with one another. Posing for photos with admiring fans. During Camp Freddy's performance Paris stood up on the booth and showed off her moves. Both Brody and Carey joined their table as the night progressed. The sexy staff of Wasted Space buzzed around the space all night as the party continued into the early morning hours. The superstar grand opening at Wasted Space was the hottest spot in Sin City.

OZZY ROCKS CAMP FREDDY

OK ? so normally I get home from a show and collapse into my bed with a large Pinkberry and a movie. The review of the show can wait. But tonight, something magical happened and I wanted to share it with you guys before I hit the sack. Tonight, we were joined onstage by none other than The Prince Of Darkness himself, Mr Ozzy Osbourne. Yeah ? that?s right ? Ozzy just blew the roof off the House Of Blues, and we got to play three songs with him to close out a great Camp Freddy gig. Crazy Train, Iron Man and Paranoid were undoubtedly some of the coolest moments so far in the Camp Freddy story. I am absolutely shattered and the Pinkberry is waiting??so I will do the full round up (including some KILLER video) tomorrow. For now, I wanna say a huge thank you to all the artists who played with us tonight and a big hug to Sharon and Ozzy for now being a part of the extended Camp Freddy family. A fucking great time was had by all.
See ya

More from Dave Navarro and www.6767.com

(Photo: Wendybird)

Last night's Camp Freddy show goes down in the band's history as one of the all time greatest experiences in our 6 year career. We have had the honor of playing with some of rock's most amazing and talented musicians. A list that is so vast that it is too long to type here. Go to Camp Freddy's MySpace page for a fairly full listing. Last night, however, was probably the most incredible for me personally as Ozzy joined us at The House of Blues for three songs... Crazy Train, Iron Man and Paranoid. Of all the artists we have had the pleasure of working with, none have had a more intense and profound effect on me than Black Sabbath. They are the pioneers of Heavy Metal. Their music has not only influenced me, but it has influenced just about every other heavy band that has in turn, influenced me. Having the opportunity to perform live with Ozzy is literally a dream come true. The House of Blues was cranked up to a level I have never seen in there before. The energy in the room was so electrifying that it could have powered up New York City for a year. Thanks to Ozzy for joining us on stage for a night that everybody in the club will remember forever!

He's the frontman for the most influential rock band is heavy metal history and they're extremely proud to have played with him.

For them, it's satisfaction to the n'th degree and "carried away" isn't even a thought.

Ya, he is good, maybe its overexposure.. Ha.  Kidding.  I am an Ozzy fan, I just know at his age he isn't all there. Now, if Zakk had joined them, that would have been cool.  I like Billy Morrison and Dave, but I don't think they could handle Randy's parts like Zakk can mainly because they don't ever play those songs.  If you know what I mean.  I am sure they can do fine on the Sabbath stuff....

Last nights CF radio podcast can be heard here:

http://www.billymorrison.tv/BM_Media/Podcasts/02_08_08.mp3

You'll get the idea of what playing with Ozzy meant to these guys, total reverance.

Apparently Navarro did just fine with the guitar parts. yes

Plenty of youtube clips to follow...

X Games rap up courtesy of www.campfreddy.net:

SETLIST: Hello There, Just What I Needed, Search And Destroy, EMI, Rain, Rock And Roll Star, In The Meantime, Suffragette City, God Save The Queen, People Are Strange, Cat Scratch Fever, Would, Dirty Deeds, Crazy Train, Iron Man, Paranoid, I Wanna Be Your Dog.

GUESTS: Ozzy Osbourne, Naveen Andrews, Billy Duffy, Jerry Cantrell, William DuVall, Mike Inez, Mark McGrath, Royston Langdon, Lemmy.

For the fourth year in a row, Camp Freddy returned to the Los Angeles House Of Blues to play the annual ESPN/X-Games party. Ozzy joined the band onstage for three songs at the end of a set that included Alice In Chains members, Lemmy from Motorhead, Naveen Andrews (from TV show LOST) and usual faces Billy Duffy from The Cult, and Mark McGrath

That performance was terrible.  Not because of the guitarists, they did fine.  Because of Ozzy, he was all over the map.

that's 6 years ago, proshot, was released for a dvd and cd so there is most likely mixed a little bit with his vocals too so i wouldn't really compare that to some fanshot with an average camera
