i've been playing guitar hero since Christmas and thought it was pretty cool how Aerosmith has there own (which was only a rumor before) but i was wondering if KISS and Guns'n'Roses were gonna do it too. Cause i know that they "rumored" to have GH versions of their band too.

Instead of spending a week or two learning a pattern to get a high score you can learn some chord progressions and songs.

Yet I bought GH2 anyway.

I'm not that good, but I love to play Dream On and Mamma Said. I suck big time playing Pink, tho.

You can pick up GH or Rock band and be passively good at easy in an hour or two......and be pretty good in a week.  Within 2 to 3, you're jammng on medium.  Within 6 you're playing hard.  And that's playing casually, an hour or two every other day or so.

Playing "real" guitar it took me a good 6 months before I could comfortably work my way through even the simplest of decent rock songs (something other than the obligitory Stairway and Rock and Roll All Night).

Playing GH is like playing a 5 fret, one string guitar.  In other words...it's not really like playing guitar at all. 

But it's fun.......and you can get a bunch of non-musical folks together and have a BLAST as a party game (especially with rock band).

I used to say the exact same thing until i tried it about a year ago...now I own all of the games and will be buying the Aerosmith one tomorrow....its alot of fun....it really has nothing to do with playing the guitar...it took me a long time to learn how to play a few decent songs on guitar but guitar hero I learned in about an hour....the only thing it helps with as far as playing real guitar is probably timing.....its not supposed to be a replacement for the guitar just like Madden is not supposed to be a replacement for going out and playing football with your friends...its just a fun game

My kids got it for xmas in 06 so of course I had to try it. I am not really coordinated soooo I sucked at it, I still played everyday until I got the hang of it, and it is fun, and Im a little more coordinated.

I've been playing guitar for 13 years. It's not the same thing at all, but it's fun enough. I think non-musicians would be more than happy with it.

One bad thing I found out was that my wrist got fucked up after a few matches. Even if it's a simple chord progression, it needs some fucked up typing.

I won't have time to play for 6 months because the game has to return to the company. And I don't have one at home. Hell, I don't even have a PS2.

We got rockband in my office - totally amazing game.  I totally rock out on Enter Sandman and Iron Lung.  I do a pretty good Ozzy as well.

The STRONG rumor (nothing officially announced...but pretty much everyone involved has acknowledged it EXCEPT the developer/publisher..and even they mention it in an SEC filing) is that there will be a Metallica version of Guitar Hero.

There was, at one time, an announcement that Rock Band would get an entire Metallica album download.  I'm not sure if that's still coming or not.  They released a song pack almost immediately after Rock Band was released...and I think that might have been it.
