Anyone Ever Have Thyroid Problems?
«

Found out part of my problem is my thyroid. A few nodules that are antiinflammatory - attacking my thyroid - biopsy done - and they are causing signs of both hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism. I'm so freakin scared because I have symptoms my whole life but until recently they have gotten bad. Most serious problem is that I am having some trouble breathing right now and I don't see the doc until he gets back from vacation on Tuesday. I'm going to a great doc but scared something might happen before he gets back.

Is going to the ER an option if anything goes wrong? Or maybe checking into it now as a precautionary measure?

You should definitely get that checked out. I don't know too much about it but I've heard a little bit about it recently. You should be fine seeing the doctor next Tuesday. But if you feel any worse or just want to make absolutely sure you may want to check in with another doctor before then. Again I really know little about it. Artie Lange from the Howard Stern show has been in bad medical shape the past few years and he started losing the hair on his arms. A doctor called in and said that it could be a thyroid problem. That was a few weeks back and I don't believe he's gotten it checked since then. He's fine. In my estimation, it's something that could worsen with time but it's not likely to happen in 3 or 4 days. But again, that's up to you, if you want to completely put your mind at ease you could opt to seek a medical opinion before next Tuesday. Good luck though. I hope all goes well.

If you're waiting...don't. Live your life. That's your responsibility not mine. If it were not to happen you won't have missed a thing. If in fact it does you might get something that works for you.
