Tech. help Rock Am Ring request.

I have Rock Am Ring on dvd...but the strangest thing...it only plays/played on 1 dvd player.  Most dvd players wouldn't recognize the disc.  Now, the 1 player that plays it plays the audio just fine but the picture has horizontal lines garbling the image.  It used to be just perfect...I sudpect my kids got near the case/dvd, but my wife says they didn't.
Any ideas?

btw, is there any way to get this again?  It is easily my most played GNR dvd...I went to The Trader's Den, and couldn't understand the directions past Step 1.

maybe it's a PAL dvd and your DVD player only reads NTSC?

Cotis, thank you for the reply...but I am a tech. moron!  I went to the site and registered.  Beyond that I had no idea what to do next...I felt like my in-laws trying to use a dvd player.   

I'll have to tackle this after a good night's sleep.  But I do appreciate the response, thanks man!
