SLASH's Solo Tour To Coincide With Album Release - Nov. 29, 2009

Legendary VELVET REVOLVER/ex-GUNS N' ROSES guitarist Slash has posted the following message on his official Twitter profile:

"Driving around listening to the analog mixes of my solo record, I gotta say it sounds awesome. The whole self-titled record was recorded analog.

"It will be released March/April. Tour starts around then too. It will be released in all formats, including vinyl."

he whole self-titled record was recorded analog.

I remember reading when he started this project he wanted to do that purposely to give the album a more classic feel as very few if any artists are doing it much anymore now that the world has gone digital.

Future adopts an exclusive approach

November 30 2009 02:00

While the publishing world around it experiments with slash-and-burn tactics, Future is hoping it can rely merely on Slash.

The first solo album by Slash , formerly the guitarist with Guns N' Roses, will be available to fans as a CD attached to a special issue of Future's Classic Rock magazine title.

It is a project reminiscent of the Mail on Sunday's "cover-mount" in 2007 of a new album by Prince, but Future is pursuing a very different pricing strategy.

Instead of giving away the music, the Slash issue of Classic Rock will sell for ?14.99, compared with its normal cover price of ?4.99.

"It's all about providing super-premium content," according to Stevie Spring, chief executive of Future, which publishes almost 90 special interest magazines in the UK and US.

"People are prepared to pay for exclusive, non-substitutable material and the harder core they are, the more passionate, the more they will pay."

I do think that is very possible since the whole track listing hasn't been revealed. I'd have a coronary if Plant, Tyler, Baz, Jagger, Daltry, Gillan or Mogg have done tracks for the album. drool

Don't get your hopes up. It's still possible but I don't think Slash is that good in keeping suchs secrets for too long anyways. Can't wait to hear the album though!

Im not sure who Slash's friends are these days but im quite surprised that i havent heard much about the likes of Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, lenny kravitz, or maybe Nikki Sixx.

Aerosmith were his favourite band and he was good friends with Sixx and Lenny.

Nah, I'm not saying that I'd like the album any less if these singers are not there. It would be a nice surprise though.

We already found out Lenny Kravitz won't be on the album. http://musicnews.virginmedia.com/entertainment/news/music/2009/06/25/lenny_kravitz_not_on_slashs_album
. I guess Slash is still close with Joe Perry so who knows?
