I hate Snakepit albums but I love Velvet Revolver

I def won't listen to the Nicole track.. Fergie depends on the lyrics etc. If its BEP or her solo type garbage, i won't.

For those that hate everything Slash did after GNR, this was GNR level quality post GNR...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WP4suWBfAWQ
That was some good stuff.  I loved some of Slash's playing in VR, he just wasn't showcased enough, which was odd since he was the STAR of the band.  Never cared for his Snakepit or Blues Ball stuff, though I never really delved into either too deeply.

I think that is the key here, (i'm not singling you out faldor but you brought up a good point that I think applys to many "Slash Haters") I think alot of people who have listened to the Snakepit albums, or even VR for that matter wrote it off after not many listens as not being good just because it didn't sound like Guns. If you go at it with a different approach I think you will seem to like these albums more. Sure, the snakepit albums aren't life changing, but they are still better than ALOT of albums out there, and I listen to them every few months or so. After my first listen to those albums I wrote them off and then about 2 years after listening to them I got in to them. Same thing with libertad, I wrote it off after it first came out, now after relistening to it I am getting more into it.

the main reason VR didn't sound like Guns was intentional b/c scott would veto/nix songs that sounded like GnR songs Embarrassed
like thats a bad thing

Yeah, I don't think anyone should worry too much about the singers' past work. These will all be rock songs.

You should have seen the cover they wanted to do. It wasn't a glove, believe me.

From Snakepit.org:

Andrew Stockdale, lead singer of Melbourne rockers Wolfmother, has recorded a track on SLASH's solo album. Stockdale described the track's sound as "relentless" and said that SLASH is an "iconic" guitarist and he was honored to be asked to be on the album.

SLASH is releasing the first single off the new album in Japan next month. It features a new song called "Sahara" with vocals by Koshi Inaba, from the Japanese duo B'Z. Also included is a new version of the GNR classic "Paradise City" with a guest appearance by Fergie of The Black Eyed Peas. This two track single will be released on November 11. You can pre-order your copy from Amazon.com's Japanese site.

SLASH has doubled his Facebook fans to one million over the last few weeks. That's more than Oprah! The growth spurt started on September 23 and has been going strong. If you're not a Facebook fan of SLASH's, get over there and sign up! Why? We think it's all the concerts SLASH has been playing and in anticipation of the new album coming out. SLASH is stoked!

I am really curious to see what this album sounds like.  With this many great artists on the bill should be good. I like the 1st Snake Pit album but wasn't crazy about the 2nd.  Both VR albums were good.  I think this is going to be better than people think.

And maybe she will guest on his album?

Rihanna Is Working With Slash!

October 31

Music producer BigChris Flores released some great news via Twitter! Looks like Rihanna is taking her rock edge to a new level by working with rock royalty, famous guitarist Slash that is. If you have been under a rock for the last 22 years, Slash is  famous for being a member of Guns "N" Roses....

    * Rihanna is probably working with Slash! The music producer BigChris Flores updated his Twitter with the following messages:

    - Got L.A. Reid coming to the studio with Slash today, to lay guitars on a new Rihanna song.
    - Session with Slash for Rihanna went great.

Slash STOP IT!!

Just focus on Rock, forget that pop shit.

PD: Wait a minute, at the end it says, "lay guitars on a new Rhianna song" . I think he means on new record of Rhianna that features Slash. What is your interpretation of this?

There will be tons of great musicians on this album so if you don't like one or two (maybe three) of them you might still enjoy the rest of the album. I hope it will be released as scheduled.

SLASH has doubled his Facebook fans to one million over the last few weeks. That's more than Oprah! The growth spurt started on September 23 and has been going strong.

That's amazing! And now he's got already 1,300,402 fans and counting on Facebook. That's almost 1,000,000 more than one of his previous bands. Couldn't find an official VR page though.

Band's on hiatus. What would they tweet about?

"Still no lead singer."
"Yes, Matt is still a douche."

And Chinese Democracy outsold Libertad like, ten-to-one. What's your point in GNR-bashing? This is about Slash's album... which should be very interesting, at the very least.

Just came across this, the first sample of the new track you can hear playing in the background of the interview. There's some cool Slash soloing and riffing going on! ok
