I love how any time someone says something supportive about Slash (say that fives times fast), all of a sudden he's their "hero".
I find that funny too!
He's not exactly spider man!

@Axlsmainman
Your clearly quite delusional!
if you love Bucket and Axl so much, go discuss the tour.
Surely thats more exciting than telling us why you love Bucket so much.
i guess on the tour we should look forward to a shred version of TIL

people seriously like bucket head better than slash? the worst part of the 01-01-01 concert was his increadibly stupid numchuck solo. did anyone there really enjoy it?? i sure didn't.. and if remember right.. there was quite a lot of booing during it.. maybe because it was a numchuck solo..not to mention how he ruinened the GNR classics by taking away any bluesly rythm that the old songs had.. he is better off covering songs like Kiling time.. the speed metal is more his thing.

Now don't get me wrong people. I'm most certainly not going to say that Slash is right about everything, and I've called some of his decisions and statements into question in the past. But the majority of the songs that you know and love from GN'R have Slash's signature all over them, so calling his talent into question is going a bit too far. Sometimes he doesn't work to his full potential, and I put that down to laziness, but when he puts the effort in he is one of the best in the world. If you don't accept this, then I suggest trading in your copy of Appetite For Destruction.

Some people seem to forget and don't realise that they probably wouldn't be going to see Guns in January if it wasn't for Slash

Aren't people basically trying to compare two different guitarists who play completely different styles?? (I know BH plays slower stuff but a lot of people know him as a shred guy)
I wonder where this thread's next detour will take us...

Hopefully certain people leave and we can get back to discussing the solo album.

1) Buckethead has released
28 studio albums
and knows how to play the
Guitar (with VERY skill), bass, drums, mandolin, piano, banjo and organ
, besides he handles in several styles ( if you see something positive on it) such as Avant-garde, jazz fusion, funk, instrumental rock, hard rock, progressive metal, heavy metal, experimental rock, funk metal, ambient, dark ambient, alternative metal and electronica (according to Wikipedia).
2) Slash JUST has released 8 studios albums and knows how to play the guitar very well, that's it.
As you can see, there's a big difference between the work and resources of every one. But, despite of his "limited" skill, just one of them has became in a Legend and Icon of Rock and Roll, has released one of the best Hard Rock albums ever (AFD), has created some of the best Rock Riff in the History of RN'R and inmortalized a lot of GREAT guitar solos.
So, Slash has proved that he's special, with no big resources he has created amazing stuffs. That's why Slash is the dearest Guns member, beside Axl Rose. That's why - althougth they are separeted now- they allways will be Guns n' Roses in our hearts.

Slash plays the same 3 chords?
So u basically just shit all over AFD and UYI
Way to go trying to prove u are a fan.
I suggest picking up some tab to GNR songs sometime.
Locomotive anyone?

Figure of speech anyone?
+Rocker+ above provides a nice little synopsis in the difference between Slash's technical abilities and those of Buckethead.

Early GNR has arrangements and chord changes just as complex as the stuff on cd.

Did I say that?
No.
All I said was I have more admiration for an artist like Buckethead than Slash because while Buckethead has, and continues to expand the tapestry of his craft, Slash does not.

buckets nightrain outro is all about speed, the feel is so off, but hey if you like the speed over all else approach bucket took to alot of the gnr songs then good for you.
Slash>Ron>Bucket for (old)GnR stuff.
for general playing with all their bodies of work involved i wouldn't be able to seperate them.

Slash from a year or go or so on Nighttrain...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5QvpnPRnhsM
Buckethead
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uk7plGs3RP0
I chose the above Slash solo because it was the first time he played that solo live in a VERY long time and it was closer to Bucket's performance. Hell, I liked the live at the ritz version from 88'. Anyway, they both rock. I think Slash's has a little more grit and attitude. Bucket is more melodic. Both great.
