I dislike the idea of re-recording Paradise City. I mean, what is the point, to begin with? I don't deny anyone the right to play any song they want live. But re-recording it is a completely different thing.
I may just be biased because I could not stand Cypress Hill's take on Paradise City when I first heard it and can not stand it now (I quite like Cypress Hill when doing Cypress Hill songs). But it just reeks to me.

I hope that it is just a live version. Like on the Slither single, when they had a live version of "Bodies". Do we know the name of the song Slash and Fergie are actually doing? I always thought it would be a new song, but I suppose it could just be this cover too. If it was re-recorded though, that would be pretty lame.

If it is just a live version, then a lot of people - myself included - have just made a huge fuss over nothing, pretty much.

I'm really looking forward to this first single, and I wonder if it will have English lyrics or sung in Japanese.
All the youtube stuff I've seen of the guy is in Japanese.
I guess I'm not too fussed as long as Slash's playing is great.
I think it would be in English, since it's on his album. Unless they re-recorded the track for the Japanese market, which seems unlikely.
I was right:
Language: Regardless of country of origin all tracks are sung in English, unless otherwise stated in our description.
$30 for a single.

Slash denied use of a re-recorded version of WTTJ by the new band. To include that version in Black Hawk Down was Tom Zutuat's idea.
Do you have any legal documents to prove this is true? And if so, it might not be because of the re-recorded version. As we all know a lot of GN'R-classics were denied to use in movies before but not by Slash, Duff, Izzy or Steven.
Legal documents? Are you serious? Unless you have access to court records, that would be nearly impossible to obtain.
Read this:
http://www.heretodaygonetohell.com/news/shownews.php?newsid=430
Then read the March 2008 issue of Classic Rock for further proof of the intention to include the re-recorded version of WTTJ in the film, Black Hawk Down.

Visited the link but I'm really not convinced. "GN'R news from Miss Truth" yeah right; "Rose reportedly told a fan..." M'Kay?
Mick Wall's Classic Rock is a great magazine but I'm sure Axl doesn't want us to believe all you punks in the press that want to start shit by printin' lies. A great article from this magazine was even removed from this board by the moderators for its (false?) content.
Other legal documents have been published here before, most of them in pdf-format. So basically there's proof of what you (and Miss Truth) are claiming or there are just a few articles that tell this story.

PCD's Nicole Scherzinger Tagged to Slash's Upcoming Solo Album
October 12, 2009
A duet song between Nicole Scherzinger and Slash is in the works, so it was unveiled. "I just did a song with Slash for his album, and I just did a duet with Alice Cooper," the lead singer of R&B girl group The Pussycat Dolls opened up.
The collaboration project has been teased since last week following Nicole and the former guitarist of rock band Guns N' Roses' duet performance on October 2 during the 20th anniversary of The Mirage Resort and Casino at Bare Pool Lounge in Las Vegas. At the gig, they delivered one of the Dolls' hit singles "When I Grow Up".
Slash's first solo studio album is called "Slash & Friends" and slated for release next year. Dave Grohl and Duff McKagan have been confirmed to make contribution to the effort. Such names as Iggy Pop, Nick Oliveri, Ronnie Wood, Flea, Jason Bonham, Stacy Ferguson, and Maroon 5's singer Adam Levine are also attached to the upcoming album.

Did you even bother to read the Classic Rock (which is not Mick Wall's magazine) article and the Tom Zututat quotes on the subject?
If not, then quit whining. Oh yeah, the fan Axl talked to posted about the conversation on this very board.
And if Slash denied his consent to use the re-recorded WTTJ in the film, it wouldn't be entered as a "court" document anyway

I look forward to hearing his new outro solo cause of all of Slash's GNR 's solos, his outro on that song is probably him at his very best and very rarely could he pull it off live or even attempt it. Actually with camp fready the played it pretty much dead on a few years ago... He is going to have to outdo himself on that outro solo, not sure its possible. Its the closest Slash ever came to be a shredder... Paradise City is probably my all time favorite GNR songs, I hope they do it justice, it is a semi ballsy move, but sounds fun..
Yep, Slash these days is a better guitar player than before, he has more skill now and that outro will be killer for sure...
I am looking forward to hear it too. Fergie's voice is not too bad, she can sing the chorus part as well as Axl sings, both of them sing that part such as female voice anyway...

at the last part. I wouldn't go as far to say that Fergie sings it as well as Axl that's a bit of a stretch. But it is decent, bearable at the least lol.

It seems like kind of an odd choice...especially if it sounds anything like this.
Slash, Duff, Matt w/Cypress Hill "Paradise City"

I saw that when it aired back in the day and that was enough for me. If I never see it again, I'll consider myself lucky. Not sure where the demand is for releasing this, EVEN as a B-side. Just leave it alone Slash, step away.

I get your point, that does not make happy either but I am already used it. Slash and Axl are my fav artist ever but in my opinion, both of them have two big flaws. Axl have no respect with his fans (us) when he got late at shows and Slash has this "embarrasing" artistic ideas. I Love them anyway.

I find it very funny that every time I see Cypress Hill or Fergie play Paradise City they always forget that you have to WAIT to get to the chorus , they always yell Paradise City after "take me to the end of the line" line hahah
